Somewhat unfortunate that all the new listeners intrigued by the podcast's high placing in the Gaf awards get an opening half hour of incoherence and Garfield as their first taste.

This was my podcast of the year, even though I just started listening to P1 this fall and am wondering how I missed it all of these years. These guys are just a couple of years older than me, so I especially love the early/mid nineties memories.

Last week, I began listening to old episodes from 2006/7 and was psyched to find out one of them (CJ?) used to work at the Babbage's in Aurora, IL. I shopped there regularly during high school and have great nostalgia for the games and systems of the time. It's kind of cool (in a very geeky way) that one of these hosts may have sold me my $100 copy of Phantasy Star IV or $400 launch day Sega Saturn nearly 18 years ago!

I would like to commend you on your excellent choice of podcasts, forum handles, Japanese RPGs and 32-bit gaming consoles.

I was working the night of the Saturn launch, so possibly! Depending on how often you went in I'm sure at some point you ran into me. :) I actually still worked at the store on the weekends the first little bit I was at EGM.

Speaking of old episodes, why does the RSS not list every episode now? :(
Good question, maybe because their site went down and that's where it was all hosted?

Either that or because they want people to buy their app?

Edit: that can't be it because the app only goes back to episode 242

I'm pretty sure last I checked with the app that you can go all the way back to episode 0. You just have to "load more".

As for why the RSS doesn't go back that far I'm not entirely sure. The show uses Libsyn's RSS feed - there really shouldn't be a limit on it. I can double-check.

All this time I thought he was exaggerating for comedic effect, but I finally got around to seeing TDKR and I laughed out loud when I realized Bane's voice is pretty much exactly like that in the movie.

Had the same experience last night :D Had to smile. Have had quite a lot of spoilers on this movie from various podcasts, but it didn't matter much in the end. It was pretty decent but there wasn't enough about Gotham that made it seem worth saving.

I can neither confirm nor deny that. :)

But I can post a spoiler-tagged list of each host's top five...

CJ
1. The Walking Dead
2. Journey
3. New Super Mario Bros U
4. Halo 4
5. Alan Wake's American Nightmare

Phil
1. The Walking Dead
2. Journey
3. Gravity Rush
4. Papo y Yo
5. Sleeping Dogs

Greg
1. The Walking Dead
2. Papo y Yo
3. Forza Horizon
4. Journey
5. Asura's Wrath

Mike
1. Far Cry 3
2. Journey
3. The Walking Dead
4. Dear Esther
5. DrawSomething

Which means, if you weight the scores, the official P1P top 3 games of the year are:

1. The Walking Dead (18)
2. Journey (14)
3. Papo y Yo (6)

An appropriate collection of games for old men who would rather cry than push buttons. :P
