Also, People's disdain for the ponies seems to be similar to their disdain for moe anime, just that it is given an American face instead of Japanese.

assuming people know what "moe anime" is?

I've read through 11 pages of this and all I have to say is that the people saying K-On is better than MLP:FIM need to sit down and reevaluate their lives.

I think both kind of people have a problem :/

I had a friend diagnosed with MLP. It was... horrible. Just an awful, awful disease. His funeral was closed casket.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a clever, occasionally funny show that is of an incredibly surprising quality given the nature of the show and thrives on the silly, self conscious nature of a bunch of grown men watching a girls show about ponies.

Excluding the high quality animation, K-On has no redeeming value.

do bronies yiff or nay while climaxing? we need to be brave enough to ask these questions.

You're a duck, you're already a furry, go yiff to howard the duck!

Complete global saturation!

Hm, well said.
I still don't really get how MLP could have exploded like it has without at least some elements of counter-culture going on. I mean, the show is good but I'd be hard pressed to find any way to explain its ridiculous popularity based on quality alone.

No hard feelings, bro

Do you and frank share a candy ;) ?

edit: You know what/ I'm going to go out of character for a moment.

Ok serious question who actually cares about these people liking their show?

There's people who like jersey shore and MTV ....Jersey Shore..

This should be one of those things we leave be, like korean pop star girls, people who worship britney, etc etc.

Cause it can't go on forever. There's no S.O.S. needed.

remember its not just quality its quality in a place where people were lining up to watch the first few episodes together just to bear witness to the train of super failure most people expected from the show

It seems like a thing where Group A liked it a bit, while Group B disliked it a bit, then they started arguing about it and flinging personal insults back and forth, which caused both groups to escalate their opinions until... well, now.

A: "Hey this show is actually pretty funny."
B: "I don't really get what you see in this. Seems kinda dumb to me."
A: "It's hilarious and awesome!"
B: "It's for little girls. Are you a little girl?"
A: "You're clearly an idiot and an asshole for not recognizing MLP as one of the greatest shows of all time!"
B: "You're clearly a pedophile for watching a show aimed at little girls despite not being a little girl!"

And so on.

People seem to develop more extreme opinions when there's a strong opposing opinion for some reason. It happens a lot. I've noticed other people do it, and I've noticed myself do it. This effect should really have a name.

Well some will blast people, but I think there's more people who post in the MLP thread who, while enjoying the show quite a bit, will freely acknowledge that it is not for everyone. Just as there are those who don't like the show, and don't care if other people do. It's the people who love the show and go after people don't as well as the people who just go out of their way to rage against those that enjoy it that create the most noise.

There have been plenty of GAF threads where something MLP is posted as a reaction picture, and nothing happens. Most people just don't care what other people think.

But the thing is, most of GAF is like that. There are defense forces everywhere, running amok like mercenaries through Kingston, Jamaica. For every detractor of something, there are always people here coming to its rescue often times in antagonistic fashion. Why single out Bronies for that? The systems warriors are way worse.

Don't really know what singles out MLP. I've said before I think the rage hater are the bigger problem (not that there aren't people in PonyGAF who go out of their way to throw it in people's face).

I say it's "less" noticeable with system warriors because it's a more balanced mix, and because Gaming side tends to be a bit more strictly modded and going into full rage mode as some of the PonyGAF haters do would result in bans.

so have you guys heard of this show

it's got lauren faust

it's about ponies

ya i thought so it's called mlp, u might wanna check it out man

I mean, imo, this whole MLP-hype is just another hipster-movement. Only hipsters could do that.
Sennorin = not pony fan.
therefore
pony fans =/= pedophiles.

refute my logic gaf.

uhh.. No.
I am pretty much the exact opposite of a hipster.
Can't speak for everyone else. I just like what I like. If it is popular or not is no concern to me.

Ahem, I have evidence here of a restraining order filed BY A certain Belle E. Eve persisting to a certain Pand A. Man.

I still can't believe there are grown-ass men in the world who watch this shit. Strange, strange dudes.

The day when you're not allowed to enjoy a tv show because of you hitting some arbitrary age limit is the day I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
