I still have only seen a small portion of the middle of The Ring, and none of Ringu or its sequel, but I did see Nakata's Dark Water in theaters and loved it. Freaked the hell out of me. Nakata's visual style and freaky scenarios are really cool, so I'll definitely be seeing this. His other upcoming projects sound pretty interesting as well.

Looking forward to it. The first one creeped me out enough to unplug my TV before I went to bed after seeing it, and this one sounds just as good.

When I did the backlot tour of Universal Studios they were filming The Ring 2 there. One of the stages was open and there was this pretty large dark rocky cavern set that they were shooting on.

After reading this post I figured she was going to come out of the TV...imagine my surprise when she doesn't.
This teaser has creeped me out more than most "scary" movies do. The teaser has given me great hope for the movie. Anticipation +infiinty.
Not a bad teaser, in that I guess that's all it is supposed to be, a teaser The creepy face is just lifted from the original though. Still, can't wait, I loved the first one but it sucks that "normal looking" Samara isn't going to be in this one. IMO she was scarier than "omgmyfaceisfucked" Samara.

Suerte, you don't scare easy though. Nothing could be scarier than cocks jumping out at your face, in 3d no less. You're desensitized. Its an unfair advantage.

HINT HINT. WHIP IT OUT.Seriously though, RING 2, WOOT! I think I'm more interested in the prequel though, can't wait to see how they explain where Samara comes from, hopefully they'll do it a lot better than the whole "twin" thing in the japanese prequel.

I saw The Grudge's trailer and it didn't bother me, but the commercial with the chick with the huge black eyes and black mouth was just really creepy. I told my mom and sister not to keep watching the commercial, but did they listen? Nooooooooo.

You see some girl using safety scirsors cutting paper, the tv starts to get fuzzy the room goes black tv is still vissable then it freezes at the well scene then she pops out at you and then it goes intoa few minutes of scenes from the movie just quick flashes of stupid stuff. But i'm gonna watch it again and maybe slow it down to see more.
Check out some of the stuff in there lots and lots of stills i mean lots. Pretty kick ass theres a frame with lots of wells in it looks freaky.
I was expecting more of the trailer after the comments here. I watched it in total darkness, with headphones on and the volume set to max, too.

I liked The Ring, although I still prefer the atmosphere established in the Japanese Ringu and Ringu 2. Ringu 0 was way too long, and not that scary.

How did you know that??
I heard from a script review that you won't see young Samara's face at all, I'm guessing from the teaser the times we see her that her hair will cover her face. As mentioned, the original actress isn't back in The Ring 2 anyway. The script review also mentioned that they cut out all the "flashback" stuff that was going to explain where Samara came from to put it all in the prequel. So I guess the original actress might be back for this, if she's not too old.
