Just watched this yesterday afternoon. This guy deserves an award for his work. That 4 hour TP breakdown is epic (which I think you linked recently Nymphae Nymphae so thank you)

Hope he gets a head pat and an 'atta boy' from Lynch.

He really does, that Twin Peaks video is astounding. Very well edited and reasoned, same for this video. Not sure why they had to bleep out the name of Harvey Weinstein in a couple spots lol.

I was really surprised to see those 10 clues from Lynch that he goes over in the video, from the insert on that one DVD version. I like that, but it seems very unlike Lynch to provide clues in such an overt manner.

It's weird seeing random characters from Home and Away and Neighbours and other aussie shows in Hollywood productions. I wonder if there is any rhyme or reason to who succeeds.
Like the white rabbit girl from the matrix, did she just get that one tiny bit part or did she have a career.
Looks like I am gonna have to follow the rabbit down the hole.

She's still working on Home & Away. The production was on it's off period and she auditioned for the small part and got it. She said she only wanted the part because she is a huge Keanu Reeves fan and wanted to work with him, even if it was only for like two scenes.

Although, it definitely could've gone through an editor to pull him back a little, I love when Lynch was just fucking around with that Sony PD150 he had gotten for Inland Empire.

Interesting about him is that he will always be a painter first and a filmmaker second. His entire approach to filmmaking is as a moving painting and it shows

Lynch is best when out of his element slightly, he does well with restrictions

I liked that look too, a lot of people complained that it was grainy and shit but I really liked the vibe it gave off.

The length and pure madness of Inland Empire was a direct result of just how much fun he was having with that stupid camera lmao.

I'm a film school reject who still uses an older lower-end Sony DSLR with cheapo like 1980s glass on it for fun. I know what Lynch is getting at.

My holy trinity of movies is still like Eraserhead, Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Pink Flamingos.

Grit is good. Sometimes I want to see the zipper on the back of the monster.

I hate people lmao

Thank you so much for this! I've seen the movie +5 times and thought I had it figured out. This video gave me a completely new perspective. It's almost impossible to state how good this was. Amazing research and evidence building for every single talking point.

I ended up also watching the Twin Peaks videos afterwards. Absolutely incredible as well! Now I'm gonna check this channel every month until he uploads something new. Hoping for an Inland Empire video next...

wow, this is great. i've come across a few theories on mullholland drive and this one is tops. really like how he ties it into the dvd 'clues' insert. it got dark real quick in the middle, which i suppose is the point, his analysis is quite thorough. thanks for this, op.
