Of course he'll unretire when Vince offers him $5m to wrestle in Saudi Arabia again.

It’s kind of weird. Last night driving back from the beach my friend and I ranted and raved about Undertaker for a while. Everything from how his WrestleMania streak was fucked. To him talking about retirement as far back as 2001. To his embarrassing display the last few years. My friend was pretty adamant he needs to quit.

And today, boom. I’ve only seen clips of the special (FUCK paying for that network Lmao). Looks like good shit. Don’t know how concrete this is. Betting man, he’ll do a few more matches. But I’d be okay with this.

Honestly it doesn't really suck to see him go, but it is obviously gigantic deal.

I'm glad he is finally retiring. Taker has give 10 times more than he needed to. With old age and artificial hips tag teaming him, retirement is a safe bet to protect him from protential trauma.

I wasn’t quite as into the Boneyard match as other people seemed to be. But in terms of a note to finish up his career on that’s probably the best he can hope for.

As others have said, give it a while the Saudis will end up throwing money at him to return again.

I thought he retired a few years back...either way an absolute legend

They did a whole five part documentary about that on the WWE Network. That's what this is coming from. He wasn't happy with his retirement match and kept trying to have a good match to go out on but he kept getting shit results until the Boneyard match at this past WM.

I really thought when he went 20 -0 (or 25-0) at Wrestlemania the lights should have gone out In a flash of lightning and when they came back on there was just the urn and his hat in the ring and he was never seen again.

Would have been the perfect way to send him off.

GOAT in my books
he probably left it about 5 years too late but there probably will never be a true character like him ever again in wrestling
Yeah given the fact that his body was busted up badly, he only made the damage worse with each bump. After his hip surgery though, it was fuckin awesome to see glimpses of undertaker from about 20 years ago. The Last Ride documentary has him talking about it saying he felt so much better after the surgery. It gave him the chance to at least capture moments of glory that resembled his younger days.

Still though, it sucks to see him go. I've been watching him since the Mean Mark Callous days. 30+ years and thats it. Mark Callaway is gone. Undertaker will never wrestle a match again. It was inevitable,. but it still sucks.

Undertaker matches have sucked for yeeeears, so I hope he means it this time. They just like to do his 5 minute entrance at wrestlemania because it's still amazing, but then the match is embarrassing.

He'll wrestle again, no doubt in my mind.

I would love to see him do a firefly funhouse match....maybe a 3 way between him and sting ....they could precisely script and execute it and could turn it into the final match we all wanted

Fans will always want one more match. He’s now had a final match he’s apparently happy with. Best to just leave it there.

He should've quit 6 years ago when his WM streak broke but hey-ho, maybe he wanted to go on a better note.

But yeah, it's long overdue and he has fuck-all to prove. Better than HBK, Bret or HHH, he's just the best wrestler ever, period. Godspeed Taker and may your rest be peaceful !

Hugely deserved! Wish him the best and that he enjoys his retirement.

Also admirable how physically fit (in a smart way = meaning healthy) he managed to stay during all these years.

Him and Sting should of been 1 on 1 for the streak while it was intact. No stupid debut mania match against Triple H. Imagine the "Supernatural" Mind games those two could of played on the other?

Absolute legend. It's amazing he's still in the business until now, I was watching him as a kid. Hope he fares better in retirement than a lot of other wrestlers have (Jake the Snake, etc). McMahon is a slimeball.

I'm pretty sure his entire statement made clear he's open to coming back if needed (ie: paid well). In other words, nothing has changed. He's just acknowledging his tank is on fumes.

But if we don't see him in a ring again, or even if we do, I tip my hat to his great career. Legendary performer.

Whenever I see wrestling posts I always think of that guy in the bleachers.

“It’s real to me damnit!”

did he ever comically crash his bike while riding in?

did he retire already and they buried a RIP sign in the same arena he retired in?

I don't think so but that would be funny. Props for being able to ride that hog in such tight confined spaces.

Not sure if they buried him, but he did die at the Royal Rumble in 93 and was put in a casket that was struck by lightning and then he rose to the heavens.

He was also buried alive at another PPV though.
