I went to the post office to mail something to England today, which is always a dreaded experience... and there were about fifteen people on the line. Ugh.
Then, I noticed a brand new contraption... a fully self-serve postage unit, similar to the Metrocard Vending Machines for those who live in New York.
With a scale and touch screen, you place the item down, weigh it, enter the zip code or country, and select a speed. You charge it to your credit/debit card, and then it prints out a self-adhesive stamp for you.
Amazingly quick and easy to use, and the best thing is, since it's technology, it'll scare away the old people, who are the majority of those at the post office anyway, so there'll probably never be a line.
I mean fuck, I still see people wait in line to buy a few stamps. There's a stamp vending machine right outside the line. Use the god damn thing.
