The Warriors - First Images

NICE! I love how they captured the lighting and look of the '70s flick perfectly...not to mention the look of the characters themselves! Now someone needs to do a new Mad Max/Road Warrior driving/action game with the same care for the visuals. How about Escape from New York while they're at it?

YES!!!

For those who are fans of the movie, hell yes. I'm so fuckin happy they kept it in '79, kept the wacky outfits, the fros, everything.

I hope they get James Remar to spout some new Ajax lines. Frig yes!
 
Considering that this is on current-gen consoles, and that it's from Rockstar, who aren't exactly known for fap-tastic visuals, I don't see what's to complain about since they're obviously going for capturing the look of the source material...and it looks pretty successful to me. Barring any awful impressions of the actual gameplay, I'm picking it up.
 
I think with these open ended worlds / GTA style games.. we really need them to be on a next gen console. The visuals are starting to look really really icky.
 
Can't wait! That is one of my all time favorite movies! So is it gonna be straight beat 'em up or what? I hope they add multiple paths, multiple bosses, weapons, etc....

It has a ton of the original dialogue/scenes and original voices where possible. Also much of the original soundtrack. The guy who played the DJ is dead unfortunately :( It also contains a large prequel (as the film is only one night)

It's a beat-em up, but with large areas and roving gameplay tied to plot (ala GTA).

If this is a beat-em-up, then it's going to be all about gameplay. I still have nightmares about State of Emergency, though, so I'm certainly waiting on reviews on this one.

It was originally going to be based on a remake movie that is in the works now... thank goodness that changed.
 
ok now that i've gone flaccid, i can accept that the faces do creep me out, and it all feels a bit.. old-looking. and yet i still dig that, the dated graphics, in a weird way. but still... it's looking like a promising tribute to the movie.
 
i dont know what ppl are laughing about. they captured the ambiance of the movie perfectly IMO. it was a very dark, low budget and extremely creeeeeepy movie. and they captured nyc locales perfectly, well so far in these shots anyway. need to see some subway shots.

CRY ME A RIVER. those aere 16:9 widescreen shots. last time i checked game informer was 4:3.

They're being hosted by a site not affiliated with GAF or any user... so it's okay along the lines of how people post scans of Famitsu.

At least that's how Sporsk or some other mod explained it to me about a year ago. If that's not true then I don't see how they would explain the hypocrisy of allowing famitsu scans but not US publications.

The varying sizes of the images are a sure tip off that these are from Game Informer. Hell, Jeux-France even posted those crappy digital photos of SSX 4 from GI.

Fucking lazy arses.

These images should be pulled.

EDIT - Word has it that Rockstar is already kickin' some French ass.

They allow Japanese publications because Japanese publishers don't bitch to the admins like US publishers, such as our good "friend" Mark, do.

I got an email from GI. row roh.... For hosting the 2 pics earlier because I wasn't sure of Jeuxfrance allowed leeching. Just checked my email. :lol. dickwads. they actually have people trawling the net to do this?

chastising jeuxfrance + Myself for not knowing where the images came from is just wrong. Its not like they said "FROM GI" TO be honest. Every image is copyrighted. Even you're fucking avatar. GI just seems to have a stick up their arse. To be fair though, I guess they probably paid for that exclusive so all the power to their establishment.
