The White Disenfranchisement Narrative

The fact that this still needs to keep being said is really making me upset.

Most liberals should, quite frankly, know better by now.
I feel like the combo of left-leaning Euros in monolithic countries w/ few minorities and liberal white Americans in counties with few minorities has ended up creating a nasty echo chamber online regarding the intersection of race/economics/class/etc.

Imagine you're a normal white dude. You try to be a good person, but you're not perfect. Everyone you know is white, family, friends, you name it.

You turn on the tv one day and it says white people disproportionally are to blame for many of the problems other people face. The guy thinks to himself "Wait, I'm a good person, it's not me."

The next day, he turns the tv on to another channel and it says "White people are NOT at fault for other peoples problems". The guy thinks to himself "Yeah, I know that's my reailty, the other people just don't have any personal responsibility."

Rinse and repeat the two scenarios above for years and years. Eventually they forget where these thoughts even came from and imagine that they came to the conclusion themselves.

Eventually we hit a point like today where we have a dick like Trump who jumps on their fragility, fear, and subconscious racism, and manipulates them to give him power so he can benefit only him and cronies.

Somehow, black people have dealt with this for over two hundred years without turning to fascism for "help."

Do white people drink different water or something? Why is their reaction so... strange?

Isn't the possibility of black people turning to fascism non-existent due to who already holds the power? How could a fascist pro-black leader rise to power under the present social circumstances?

The fascism we're seeing now is the majority jealously holding onto and expanding their power at the expense of all other demographics. There's no mirror image equivalent of that process for the oppressed/marginalized class.

They are woefully uneducated and easily swayed by politicians pinning their problems on minorities.
Education isn't even a fix, when you control for racial animosity, education barely registered on how people voted in the election. It's an issue of life experience - if people grow up their entires lives in a bubble only interacting with people like themselves, bad things happen when the bubble bursts.

That's it though, this isn't a block of "uneducated" people, this is White flight on steroids. This is people who've resisted change because it's threaten their place in society. These "uneducated" folk aren't the ones making the laws.

I've said that before. I've been fortunate to live So CAL all my life. The fact that there are places where minorities don't exist in this country is a weird thought. To a lesser extent you even see racism in predominantly white neighborhoods around here even.

I agree but they are the ones that tend mislead the poor uneducated white who they also fuck over and manipulate to blame minorities for their problems.

It amazes me the in the post Trump political climate the liberals still want to fight the racist poor whites instead of fighting the elite 1% capitalists.

That's my point. White Americans actually have most things in common with everyone else except for their whiteness. What else could they possibly be seeing in Trump and the republicans that makes them worth voting for?

Dude, the majority of white america is literally towns where it's not uncommon to see 90%+ white people. The woke white people are usually in places where they grew up interacted with different ethnicities,

Yeah and it makes it convenient for them to listen to fuckers like Trump blaming minorities for the problems they face. The wall, having parents of people killed by illegal immigrants in the audience during that speech, releasing weekly reports of crimes committed by illegal immigrants etc..They will eat it up and since they don't have much or any interaction with these people they will believe it unchallenged.

They speak to them, give them a perfect scapegoat for their problems and make them false promises.

Fear, Fear. Strength, Strength. Win, Win.

They make them feel good. Full stop. We are creatures built on feelings and fear and conflict are some of the strongest and most logic killing feelings that exist.

There aren't enough therapists and SSRI's out there to help everyone who needs it.

It helps when they also blame an other they have minimal interaction with (we are good at blaming others).
