Game Street usually gets the UK or USA ones so maybe not. It's here in the UAE so it'll be the censored version I'd think.

Would've preferred no Arabic localisation and marketing if it meant no censorship, like anyone here cares about that. Yeah can't wait to hear Geralt recit Al Mutanabi...
Hahahahaha actually laughed out loud. How censored is Witcher 3 in UAE? I used to live there and the only way I would buy games is from those stores, because I would definitely be pissed if I found bits missing. I assuming just the sex scenes?
We would call that bullshit that prevents offline gamers to play games.
BTW, initially MS wanted to do just that. In addition to mandatory 24hr online ping, they wanted that each installation of Xboen games requires short communication with XBLA servers. Without such instalation check, they could not enforce their bullshit "you can share your disc game only once for free" service.
So if say, Sony and Microsoft started not allowing their games to work until official launch date, what would you guys call that policy?
Dat OST
Was Spec Ops The Line banned in UAE? Haha, brilliant considering it didn't have much kind words to say about what Dubai might end up as in the future![]()

I think you can find those threads that discussed original MS plans for XBO and similar online check system that e.g. Steam is.
Company like GOG has very noble intentions with policies like "DRM Free Games", but I think it's unreasonable to expect them to doom Witcher 3's PC sales by having fully functioning and DRM free physical copies. That shit would be as .torrent weeks before release and seriously cannibalise their PC sales.
And then you can install the game on as many computers as you want, all offline. I can't believe people are complaining about having to download one piddly file.To be clear, the Witcher 3 unlock exe on PC requires no verification of anything. It's just an exe that won't go live until launch. If you're one of the ten people in this country that has a bitchin' gaming rig that can run Witcher 3 but no working Internet, you can take a thumb drive to your local library and download it there, and install it when you get back home.
Yeah we're all billionaires.I do wonder what its like to live in UAE.....you all rich there?
Yeah we're all billionaires.
It's just like any other city mate but very safe and no tax. Gets kinda hot for half the year but the other half its fine.
Dat OST
oh no the story of a witcher game
spoiled
whatever will we do
Street date broken a couple days early in the Emirates, hardly a big deal. Here, I'll tell you a bit about the story. Geralt's gonna slay some drowners, fuck some sorceresses and there's probably going to be one or two dead kings along the way. Heroic sacrifice by one of your companions to defeat the big bad and reveal the consipracy, bam, done.
I expected some longer songs

Nope, also toned down the violence, because you know we're sensitive to all that gore here, it's not like every day that goes by we're bombarded with dead babies and mutilated cadavers on Al Jazeera.
What really pisses me off tho, is that I'm in Lebanon and yet we have to be subjected to the same censorship in the UAE and the rest of the gulf...
Huh now that you mention it, yeah, me too.
I hope there will be some full extended OST later on then.
Some of the best songs from TW2 were not even present on the soundtrack (Blue Mountains is my all time favourite), they released them later.
People keep talking about censorship like its gonna affect the game in some important way.
They'll probably censor the softcore garbage in the game and that's not really a significant aspect of the game.
You'll likely get the full experience minus a few tits and butts.
No big deal.

Looking at that box art makes me glad I'm going digital.
I remember I was trying to get Wolfenstein in Dubai Mall last year but I couldn't find it, is it banned in UAE ? I had no trouble looking for games like Lollipop Chainsaw and The Last of Us though.
UAE, Dubai.
NO WAYYYYYY, I'm from there as well! Can't believe you are also get the censored versions, but there are a lot of idiots there who'd make big deals out of it! Whats gaming like there!?
I remember it's extremely expensive and not much.

I'm paying full price for a trimmed down product, other than the fact that I'm being told how I can play my own game which I paid for.

Its an issue you gotta take up with your government. CDPR's option is to either censor it or don't release it at all.
Lol.

A little OT, but I bought the game a while ago, for 30 something euros on GoG. I see the expansion is priced 24.99 there but the complete series is 34.98. What the fuck is going on? Pay 10euros more than the expansion and you get Witcher 1/2/3 on top of that?
I already own the 2 other games by the way.
But why do they enforce it on PC then?
Spoken as a person who hasn't dealt with censored movies and etc. in the Middle East. There will be dumb shit censored out for no other reason, as well. As a guy who has dealt with that for too long I won't be touching the censored version.

Definitely a big deal considering Witcher 2 had a lot of sex scenes as well (although they are a bit tame).
My point is,I'd rather get the slightly censored game than get nothing at all.Witcher 3 has much more to offer than the sex.
On balance,I doubt the censorship could affect the actual meat of the game to any truly significant degree.
any news on the GOG preload? or even the bonus content (soundtrack etc). i just need something

You mean "BUY SERIES COMPLETE IT" section on TW3's store page? It's just all released Witcher games and price you need to pay to get ones that you are missing. For me it's 10 as I'm only missing that Adventure Game.

Why do people even bother in this age of extensive day-1 patches?
Official response: "More info next week."
The bonus soundtrack (4 tracks) is already up for download on GOG. Pretty much everything except the game is.

I'm not going to play it these days tho.
That is yours copy? Dude, at least give it short spin and spill the beans on performance and graphics :b
