[The Witcher 3] Modding "The Witcher 3". Mods and discussion within

So with that threads option...

I could make it utilize all my cores, or what? I know it's pointless past 4, but does this change that?

I used this to change Roach's color - http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/44/?

Any new mod to make the camera a little closer? Hesitant to use the cheat mode mod. Installed the simulated e3 and haven't looked back. Game looks great.

Cheat engine is just modifying data at certain addresses. That could mean modifying the camera position, or that could mean giving yourself unlimited hp. Saying the tool is used for cheating is inaccurate and closeminded. You choose which modifications you want to make.

Guess I'll use it then.

Did any mod/moder get Ciri zero shift killing skill to work (as of now she can only use her dash ability) in the debug mod when you replace the character?

do you know if the camera zooms back out for combat?

The current version of the script doesn't, but just like there's a separate cam for riding on Roach, its possible that the correct addresses could be found in the future to set different cams for all those scenarios. For now, we just have the one camera modification.

good to know. Thank goodness for people willing to put in the effort for things like this. Totally changes the game for me.

I hate that this game only has 21:9 support for 3440x1440 resolution.

I've got a 3440 monitor and I've been waiting for the new video cards from AMD to upgrade and the new chips from Intel. Meanwhile, I'm trying to play this game in 21:9, but it's either 3440x1440 or nothing. I can't drive that many pixels! It hits sub-10 frame rates! It's got a hundred ms over latency when I play like that!

So I install the witcher hunter config... let's me edit my own resolution in? Great. Edit in 2560x1080 - gives me 2560x1440.

Why? Why would you do that to me?

So now, I gotta wait until I upgrade to play in 21:9 at reasonable frame rates. Which means I probably wanna hold of from playing Witcher 3 until then (because I don't have enough time (and more importantly, inclination) to go back to a game after I finish it) - which fuckin' sucks.

I'm playing at 2560x1080 native so it's definitely supported. No hacks or ini changes needed.

Yasss Do you think adding things like Shields and bows will be possible?
I don't know how extensive their modding tool RedKit will be, but I'd hope it's possible, or even likely, considering the critical reception and its similarity to other open world games like GTA and Skyrim which have big modding communities.

should I install the xp mods or just wait till 1.5? I am not sure if I should be getting more xpo and am afraid of doing more mainline story until I am sure.

1.5 should be soon, but if you don't feel like waiting (and I don't blame you) then just go ahead and play, write down which quests you complete, find out how much xp each was worth and use cheat engine to give yourself that xp.

Is there a simple ini tweak for camera distance from Geralt? Want to zoom out a little.
No simple INI tweaks unfortunately, gotta use Zanzer's cheat table.

Any first person mods or console commands to enable it yet? Would love to explore in fp.

Also anyone manage to find a way to hide the names over npcs and enemies?
You can use the console commands dlgshow and dlghide, but they're only good for taking screenshots, as it opens an invisible menu and therefore prevents Geralt from moving while the names and hud elements are hidden.

Tempted to download the freecam mod but with the modder away for 3 weeks tad worried the new patch may break it.
Freecam is built into the debug console, using the F1 key.

Are you able to make the camera closer to Geralt during battles?
Atm you can only set one position for the cam, so if you move it closer to Geralt, it's closer to him both when just exploring and during battles, and if you move it further away from Geralt than its further away from him both when exploring and during battles. The cam for riding on Roach is unaffected though

That's cool, I just wanted the cam a little closer during combat.

sucks debug mode was patched no more freecam mode

Itll probably be unlocked again soon.
Just give it time.

Though free cam is a lovely feature, maybe if we ask enough for it they will implement a full Photo mode with free cam and cutscene lighting.
