The Witcher 3 PS4 gameplay

I really hope there is at least one massive sea monster out there somewhere in the depths.

Aww hell yeah. I can just imagine boating out in the sea when a huge storm starts to rage. You try to keep it under control, but after a while of struggling, it's ripped to pieces and Geralt falls in the water.

Then you start sinking in the murky water and you notice a MASSIVE silhouette swimming around, getting closer to you... God I love me some big massive (sea) monster stuff.

Ah yeah, got my copy just delivered :)

There aren't any actual spiders, but there are some fantasy creatures with spider/scorpion-like features like endregas, arachas, koshcheys or kikimores

From Witcher 2 (Endrega warrior):

Yeah, I rememebr the Endregas from Witcher 2. Creeped me out for sure, but didn't totally freak me out like actual spiders (digital or live ones). Though I did have some trouble killing the queen in W2 lol. Kikimores are pretty nasty. Hopefully they aren't too common in here.

Sucks being a fan of fantasy Rpg's and having such an irrational fear of insects. Even though it's obviously not real I get nervous and can barely focus. It's bizarre and incredibly annoying.

Edit: koshcheys in here too? Fuck me.

It's not the spiders you need to worry about, it's what's in the deep blue sea.
Haha, actually water in games can be pretty unnerving for me also. Not knowing what's under the surface. I'm sure there's some fucked up stuff down there in W3. Though that's more like a fun type of scared for me. Not a weird paralyzing fear like with giant insects.

Ordered mine from Amazon, no sign of it even being dispatched as of yet. Ah well if it arrives late I'll just buy it from a shop and return the late Amazon copy. :D

Well I know I won't be getting my copy early, because I pre ordered mine at gamestop. Also, I know they won't be having a midnight launch because the manager informed me only 8 copies got pre ordered in the entire store. Safe to say my copy is the only collector's edition they're handing out. (I like in Detroit, btw).

Fingers crossed then on Simplygames, you guys get yours sent out yesterday too?

Will be home in a couple of hours so not long to wait.

The serious challenge according to the description, blood and bones or something?

Have only encountered wolves so far but in a pack they can be quite a challenge.

What difficulty level would you recommend to a newcomer? I know it doesn't list it as Easy, Normal, Hard. Which one would be normal from the selection?

Got a package in the post, immediately screamed and though it was The Witcher 3. Nope, just some shitty DVD.

Hopefully monday.

Some people were going on about Saturn selling it early in Germany yesterday, can confirm that Saturn Flensburg does not sell it early. Oh well, I'll just drive back to Denmark.

Me too. I heard somewhere else that they were told by ShopTo that they had dispatched them to Royal Mail to be sent today :(

My post has just been and nothing, so I suspect Monday now.
Wondering if ShopTo told Royal Mail to hold on to them till monday to just to be on the safe side. Dont normally wait more than a day when its them.

Sooo, what's the point of removing those features if you can just switch diffiulties when you want to meditate? Please don't say "trophies".

To add difficulty and make game harder to those who like that kinda thing and doesn't scum like total scrubs? What is the point to start on e.g. Hard if you are going to scum it by using difficulty adjustment for regen meditation?

Please don't say "fun".

Does anyone know what all changes on the hardest difficulty?

What I remember from top of my head;
  • Less XP from quests
  • Less stats (e.g. HP) per level up
  • Not so generous map markers
  • HP isn't regenerated by meditation
  • Enemies are more aggressive and more attacks

So I've been playing the XBO version and it's been fine until now. I was in a neverending loading screen right after I died and decided to restart the game. It's been loading the startup screen for like 5 minutes now.

Had to restart PS4 too first loading screen was never ending!!

Guys, what's the hardest difficulty and what does it entail? I usually go for the roughest playthrough off the bat, that way I feel better when I get the better gear later in the game.

Hey guys. My local shop in NYC has it already. Do you think I would like this game if I hate crafting and RPG mechanics? I just want to enjoy graphics and hack and slash. Can I do this or will I get overwhelmed with stats? Thanks!

Witcher 2's or 3's combat isn't Hack 'n Slash combat, even if some try to say so. You actually have to use dodges, time your attacks so enemies don't block and stun you, actively swap signs to suite situation etc. This isn't Devil May Cry or similar "Hack 'n Slash" game with combo streaks.

I think you maybe would like graphics and just running around, but Witcher 3's meat will be in RPG (characters, metric ton dialogue, main and side stories) elements, crafting and maintaining your gear etc.
