The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT3| Metz Some Ploughing Good Ladies In the Forest

So I felt like my Viper swords were starting to lose their effectiveness, and tracked down the Griffin sword diagrams to upgrade. While scouring for them, I can across these:

Qdvsi5U.jpg

tMii754.jpg

What the hell? These actually have better stats than what I would get from crafting the Griffin pair. And they were free lol.

I had this image for my reference since way back, but it's now outdated. Wolf school and Skellige set not included.

It goes like this : Griffin < Cat < Bear

Regular Ursine is level 17. Enhanced 22. Superior 27. Master 31.

Regular Cat is level 14. Enhanced 20. Superior 26. Master 31.

Can't remember for Griffin but it's obviously lower except maybe for Master.

Edit : Beaten bad
Thanks guys!

For reference:

Wolf Armour and Swords (normal < enhanced < superior < mastercrafted):
14 < 21 < 29 < 34

Skellige Undvik Armour:
16 and 41

Now they just need to fix a couple other nagging things...

Sometimes slain enemies end up in weird positions instead of correctly falling to the ground. I killed a group of humans earlier and they all ended up stuck in something like the Neo bullet-dodge pose.

Also, i'm getting a bad glitch in some spots in Skellige. The camera zooms in too far and Geralt can't interact with anything. Enemies don't even respond to him when this happens since battle mode fails to initiate. Running to certain areas can fix it, but other than that, you have to save and reload.

Come to think of it, both these issues only started once I got to Skellige. Maybe it's just that area that needs some work.

Each treasure hunt armor has different stats that will compliment your playstyle. You should not look at the base damage, but at the stats that improve your character's skill tree.

For example. The Griffin set is widely popular because of its huge bonus in sign intensity and high stamina regeneration.

The Bear (Ursine) set is for the people who are highly invested in the Sword skill tree and do not care about stamina regen, but want to take as much hits as they possibly can.

And look like a proper boss while killing monsters. I just hated the Griffin abnormal "gut" look!

I was bent on clearing side quests first with minimal story progress, as result I had to max out difficulty. I have 2 notice boards left to clear. I can't go to Kaer Morhen yet since I haven't pushed the story enough, only met up with Yen to unlock travel to other locations.

Is the bruxa from the "night to remember" trailer in the game? Like I said I only have 2 notice boards left but have not had that contract ( I assume it would be a contract side quest) yet.

I hear you, but my post was specifically about the Griffin swords. As you can see in the screenshots, I am taking advantage of the Griffin armor already.

The sword stats are pretty weak imo, especially when you look at the steel sword I found (Quen intensity and crit dmg/chance boosts, perfect for my build).

The game is amazing.....but I doubt that I will ever try my 2nd run. The game is just to big to start all over again.

If we get NG+ where Im allowed to keep my powers and upgrades I would give it a try. Just to get the platinum.

At the lower levels you can definitely find better swords that often have more runestone slots as well. The Witcher swords can be upgraded though and at the higher levels are pretty damn awesome and generally better than anything you find. There's lots of cool non-Witcher swords in terms of visual design though, I think the biggest downside to the Witcher swords is that they're all fairly bland looking.

Had both of these issues, and I'd never seen them before coming to Skellige. The Matrix corpses are cool, the camera glitch is absolutely unbearable, especially carrying over to riding the horse.

I'm on my 2nd run now and it's nice being able to choose different dialogue and to see how things play out differently. Sometimes they end up entirely different from the 1st time. Basically, I went from being a good guy to being an asshole this time around.

Me too! Exactly those two issues, but they happened in Velen and Novigrad so it's not a Skellige thing.

Saving, quitting and reloading fixed the camera issue I think - it certainly didn't save it in that state, if anyone is concerned about that.

Unfortunately that will always be present unless you keep upgrading them with the Enhanced and Mastercrafted diagrams.

I have been using two different swords with 3 rune slots that I found in some cave for the past 2-3 levels. The damage difference will always be too big.

Why did you do that, damn. You are 10 levels too late.

I started Skellige at 18 and I thought i waited too long!

I have done the exact same thing. Exploration just killed the main quests for me.

Not to mention that the Main Quests after the bloody baron one's just left a sour taste in my mouth, especially the Novigrad's one.

Is there any way to shave Geralt's beard when you
bring Ciri back to Kaer Morhen?
It won't let me fast travel. :/

Nope. That's the only part I disliked about the Isle of Mists quest. It's like 2-3 hours before the game opens up again and my always-clean-shaven Geralt looked like an unclean traveller by the end of it :(

Ok, so I wasn't aware that the
Gwent High Stakes tournament was a one shot dealie, failed at the second round, and got the "quest failed", so I assume you can't attempt it again?

Luckily I had a save about 20mins earlier, so all not lost!

I come back when I have a
better deck
!

Carried on with a few more side quests last night.

Got the Brawl master trophy.
Ok, first a bear and then a rock troll!?! It was quite satisfying beating him.

I also did a few side quests at
Kaer Morhen. It was the first time I felt anything but irritated when talking to Lambert, I can understand why he'd be so bitter after how he got roped in. Is Keira Metz supposed to be somewhere at Kaer Morhen after you first take Uma there? I haven't done Yen's bit yet but I assumed she would be somewhere in the castle seeing I sent her back there.

It's nitpicky, but I wish you could just buy a straight razor or something for EMERGENCY CUTSCENE GROOMING.

Good to know I can eventually get rid of it so I won't have a Jackbeard for the later scenes.

I am seriously contemplating on just rushing my first playthrough because I am over leveled for 80% of the side quests I have in my log, plus all the main quests.

Not only that but the game feels too easy and I feel like starting my second playthrough on a much higher difficulty. Should I do it or just stay on course and do everything?

First world problems...

You can turn the difficulty up mid game.

Game gets easy regardless of difficulty at level 11 or so.

I'd recommend a sign build for some difficulty at the 25 level, mainly from story enemies. Lots of fun to combine signs to try and capitalize on damage against enemies who are resistant to it.

I know but I am level 25 and the majority of my side quests are near level 15. It makes the feeling of actually doing these quests a bit dull because there is no true reward for it.

I've been over-levelled for quite a few side quests but I enjoy doing them anyway. You meet some weird and wonderful characters and though I enjoy the combat, it's not the main reason I'm enjoying it. Plus, you never seem to get much XP or gold for side quests anyway.

I was in the same situation for the last half of my game too, I already had all the skills I wanted so the lack of reward, XP wise didn't really bother me much. I think the XP and leveling is a little weird in general so I didn't really feel like I missed out on anything by being over leveled.

On my next playthrough I'm going to play more attention to the level of quests and try not to over level myself again though.

Dumb question: Im lvl 24 and I haven't created a single armor (expect part of the mission)
How do you upgrade armors?

Could somebody please explain the Adrenalin point system to me, and the best way to exploit it? I've basically paid it no attention whatsoever so far, but I'm sure it offers some pretty powerful options.

You need to find the diagram for the armor then that will allow you to see what parts you need to craft it. Once you've got all the stuff you need then visit an armourer/blacksmith and they will create it for you.

You can find the diagrams on your own by exploring the map but a much quicker/easier way would be just buying the treasure hunt maps from people and that'll add the diagram location in the quest's tab.

I get that....but thats creating an armor. Is that the same as upgrading your armor?

pretty much. just find the upgrade diagram, see what parts you need, go to the armourer/blacksmith and they will upgrade your current piece.

Only the Witcher sets can be upgraded (As far as I've seen so far). In order to upgrade them it's the same process, you need the diagrams for the upgrades which you find (They can't be bought - maps to them can be bought though). And craft them. Difference being you need the base set to upgrade and so on so forth for each tier.

Lol I haven't even talked to the Nilfgaardians about Yennefer at the orchard and I'm already on my second day of play...

There is so much to do. All the menus and potions with all their options are so intimidating to me right now.

Also does anyone know the details of today's patch?

She hasn't arrived yet and she will tell you why when she does.

Gaf I need your help. I started playing on ps4, and got to novigrad, but now I've built a decent gaming PC and got the game for free with my 970.

Played around with settings and it looks amazing pc.

Shoul I bite the bullet and start over on pc and experience the more beautiful graphics? I need someone to give me a kick in either direction.

100% yes. The graphics on PC are incredible and I've hardly ever noticed any aliasing. Not to mention the entire lack of loading times with an SSD.

This is the first game where even if I'm overleveled I'm still doing the quests.

You're meeting all these interesting and sometimes pretty fun characters and situations.

Just do them for the adventure man!
