Who even cares about expensive pre rendered trailers? Make a trailer when you have gameplay to show. And put the money in the game.

This.
But also in the year of our lord 2025 some people still see the "in engine" tag and go "OMG THIS IS WHAT THE GAME WILL LOOK LIKE !!11!!!111!!"
So I guess it still has its uses

I probably sound jaded and bitter and whatever but I fucking hate these overproduced auto-fellatio videos.

You can practically hear them sniff each other's farts.

I'm probably the minority in here, but I always love to learn the thought process and mocap work behind game and film trailers. Not bothered about it being pre-rendered as that's how CDPR does all their announcements. At least this seems a little more grounded and close to what the game would feel like, conveying a lot of the tone, Ciri's abilities, choices and unexpected consequences and stages of boss fights.

The cyberpunk announcement did none of that and let people's imagination run wild, making the final product underwhelming in comparison. So kudos to them on doing a better job.

May be it's me as well. I also don't know what you are talking about. She always looked like that when people didn't cherry pick unflattering angles. This whole thing about her "uglified" looks has been a nothing burger that was even more ridiculous than "Fat Aloy". She looks older now and sounds less like a hyper enthusiastic kid that discovered drugs and is just short of a cocaine fueled "wooooooo" at the end of every line. Playing Witcher 3 right now, and man, her monotonous voice acting gets old so fast.
