Just got my contacts, amazing......... i should have gotten it years ago.

Takes a while getting used to though. i'm loving it.

I've been wearing glasses for a few years now all though i never wear it outside of school/home

It really feels like i just got out of a chinese prison :D

Goodbye to glasses.

I know exactly what norinrad feels here. I'm a relative newcomer to contacts myself and I am amazed daily at the difference they make. I'd worn glasses almost my whole life... why didn't anyone tell me the world was this big???

Its especially noticable in the summer. All those blades of grass.. without my contacts it just looks like a green carpet :lol

I've only ever had contacts, but I'm going to get some frames soon... there's just times when glasses would be more convenient imo.

Such as..?

i'm getting another pair of glasses this week to replace the pair i lost a month ago, though i've toyed with the idea of contacts. i've been looking at the selection at places online since i haven't seen any locally i like. Eyeglasses.com has a nice feature that lets you upload your photo so you can see how they fit.

Like if you're stuck somewhere for awhile and your contacts are irritating your eyes for whatever reason... I don't carry around the little contact holder and a jug of contact solution , usually. So like, when I work 12 hrs, it would be nice to have glasses I could take on and off as I needed them.

Just small stuff like that... but I've only had contacts for like 14 years now, so it's an ongoing annoyance I want to rectify.

I've been using contacts since the age of 15 and I'm sick and tired of these evil tiny things. Laser surgery is just a few months away for me. Best solution evah.

Yeah, contacts rock. I'm usually too lazy to put them in, though, because I'm only -1.25 on each eye. So I can do without them most of the time. But it's still a great feeling to have all that glasses-free clear vision. :)

Just get the little contact lens relief eyedrops. Works great. I agree about glasses being better at times though.

Cool. I just got contacts this week but I notice my right eye doesn't work. My left eye is fine but the right eye seems blurred sometimes so Im guessing they screwed that up. The only bad thing about my contacts is that they're custom made so I have to drop a lot of money on these and take special care of them.

when I got contacts in high school I had the same experience. My vision was pretty shitty, but id only wear my glasses in class and at home, not during lunch or anything. once i got contacts i realized how limited my eyesight really was. You mean I am supposed to be able to see faces from 20 ft away? :lol

i dont' have contacts because i have naturally good vision.
and I didn't need braces, nor have I had to have my tonsils out... only recently did I have to have my one and only wisdom tooth removed.

I'll never forget the first time I got my contact. That's not a typo I only wear one.
The previous eye doctor was a hack and gave me glasses when actually my eye problem doesn't work well with glasses.

I basically, unbeknownst to me, never did see in true 3D. Lets just say trying to play baseball was interesting. I had to literally guess when the ball was coming to me based on the size of the circle ;D.

Then I finally got contacts my Junior year of high school. Holy crap... the feeling when I first stepped out of the eye doctor's office and saw the world how it really was for the first time. The leaves on all the trees stood out like a pop-up book, intricately detailed with this magical new dimension. I just leaned against the side of the building for a good 10 minutes staring at everything. It was truly incredible.

Ok so its day 3 of having my first set of contacts and I've learned that my right contact just isnt working for me. My left is fine and my right has to be in a certain spot in my eye to see fine...am I cock eyed? No! but then again theres also a tiny line on my right contact that the eye guy said needs to go towards the bottom of my eye, maybe he was confused and meant to say top. Oh well I'll put them on tommorow and place the line towards the top and if that doesnt work then I'll just get them replaced.
