So they are changing the name?
Slightly tough to market it under the Cloverfield brand with it's current title.
I'm betting the universe it just some marketing nonsense . Honestly as long the movies are as god as !0 Cloverfied Lane who gives a shit. As long as it doesn't shit the bed because though i haven't seen cloverfield the last third seems to be a thing they had to to appeal to cloverfield fans."shared universe"
Yeah, ok.
I have no problem with the anthology approach now that it's out in the open and I liked both films but this idea of a shared universe is the most bullshit of all.
They aren't connected, they might have a couple easter eggs that fans will obsess over and given their embracing of ARG web stuff, I'm sure they'll keep feeding fan theories for years and mysteries that lead nowhere. That's fine if you like stuff like Lost but I really don't care about how these films are supposedly connected, I'll just take it as an anthology series and that's it.
It's not a sequel and neither was 10 Cloverfield lanePresumably. 10 Cloverfield Lane was talked about as "Valencia" before the first trailer.
Honestly, it seems wierd they'd do this a second time. 10 Cloverfield Lane was crazy because nobody expected a Cloverfield sequel. Doing it again feels... redundant?

This is the film that explains the scientists that open the portal where all these monsters come from.
HP Lovecraft am cry.
Just give me my dam cloverfield sequel

But how was 10 Cloverfield lane tied to Cloverfield in the first place? I really did like the movie but the last 20 minutes it jumped the shark. Kind of wish it kept you guessing instead of revealing everything.
Well, if this means that we get better version of Half Life movie then it's fine. The only way these movies are connected is that you'll keep giving them money for having the word "Cloverfield" in the title, so they'll keep slapping the Cloverfield name on these movies that have nothing to do with each other.
And it'll work too.
1. Find script with some sort of vague mystery.
2. Say it's "part of the Cloverfield universe"
3. Profit
I just want another Cloverfield monster movie.

I understand the throughline, I just don't they why Bad Robot was bothering with the smokescreen during preproduction.Think of this as the third episode in a cinematic anthology series called Cloverfield.
108 mil on a 15 mil budget is a bomb?Except 10 Cloverfield Lane bombed so there goes that theory

Both parties hope to release a new film in the shared Cloverfield each year
The twist will be they died during launch and the alternative reality is just the after life.
The worst parts of Cloverfield Lane were the areas where you could see things hastily reshuffled to fit the Cloverfield rebranding.
This plan of his shouldn't inspire hope in anyone.
Where the first instalment is self titled. Like a Twilight Zone episode called The Twilight Zone. Not buying this 'anthology' excuse at all, it's as retro fitted as adding Cloverfield to an unrelated script. Either they are connected stories in a cinematic universe or they are a thematically or spiritually connected collection of stories in an anthology. You are saying this is both.
I'm wondering if this movie was originally something else but the execs forced it to be a Cloverfield movie, like 10 Cloverfield Lane.
That’s not the way 10 Cloverfield Lane was originally going to end.
Before the thriller took on a title alluding to Abrams’ 2008 found footage monster movie Cloverfield, this project was called The Cellar. The end The Cellar’s spec script has Michelle escaping the bunker, then getting in Howard’s pickup truck, driving away, still seeing no signs of any kind of chemical or nuclear or alien attack. She drives toward Chicago, where her family is (or was). And then, in the final couple shots of the film, once she’s crested a hill, she sees Chicago, reduced to rubble.
Smash to black. Roll credits. No action sequence with aliens. No aliens or spaceships onscreen at all. No explanation of what destroyed Chicago.
It can be both.
Anthology shows don't set all their episodes on the same Earth, so why are you getting angry Cloverfield has multiple universes?
Will the characters be reasonably sympathetic like the girl in Lane, or the most disgustingly self-absorbed shitheads you've ever desperately wanted to see eaten by a giant monster, like in Cloverfield?
I was talking about God Particle, I know 10 Cloverfield was another movie.

No one is getting angry, grow up. And nothing you said indicates "it can be both" or contradicts me. If it's multiple universes it's not a shared universe.
Yes, the spec script is already out there, so expect a similar treatment.I'm wondering if this movie was originally something else but the execs forced it to be a Cloverfield movie, like 10 Cloverfield Lane.
Shared multiverse then. And I'm glad you're not angry or telling people to grow up angrily. That'd be hostile.
I'm still salty that 10 Cloverfield Lane was not a direct sequel but the movie was still great, I've accepted it as an anthology and can not wait for particle. I think it'd be neat if they did eventually make a film that makes sense of the connections.
This dude is a fucking hack. All his original shit is pretentious rubbish.
The company that owns Slusho is featured in both movies. In Cloverfield, they're responsible for waking up Clovie. In 10CL, Goodman's character worked for them in their satellite monitoring division and clearly they knew about aliens.
The current fan theory is that all the movies in the Cloverfield anthology series will be connected via the Slusho company. Each movie is a different timeline but Slusho is always responsible for some kind of sci-fi fuck up.
If God Particle is about alternate dimensions, I wonder if that theory will be proven true?
Produced and developed? He dabbled in plenty of stuff thats trash. Are you referring to JJ Abrams, the man who hasn't written or directed any of the films in this series?
Imagine if Black Mirror decided to somehow tie them al together. Fuck that, leave the connections to Slusho/Tagruato Easter eggs.
