There is apparently trouble with Discord, about the platform being used for illegal activity and child groomers.

Michele

you.
TL;DR: Discord is having a lot of issues. Not only is the app being used for criminal activity, but there has been reports of child groomers using the app. In addition, there is a very heated controversary involving furries on Discord app, and the responsible is /u/allthefoxes for the controversary policy.

Hello everyone, I am actually not sure where to post it. Discord is a major platform for gaming, but what I'm about to say is not related to gaming and I am not sure where to put this lol. But there seems to be a lot of trouble brewing on Discord.

First up. The FED are looking into Discord, because apparently the app is also being used by peoples for illegal criminal activity. USA cops are also being warned about the app being used by groomers to take children suspectible to online coericion.
To be clear, Forbes article has a lot of interesting screenshots showcasting illegal activity...

https://www.forbes.com/sites/thomas...ves-child-groomers-and-fbi-investigators/amp/

BUT THEN, THERE is that child grooming. And he goes over to explain how this saga began, with MrTempestilence highlighting the leeway that Discord gives way to... 'cub porn'. Ew. The mod was immediately found in question, so he hid his profile and erased his Discord position status. My, my...

And lo behold, Tempestilence found a possible other lead. This time, someone named /u/allthefoxes. Apparently he helped set this controversial policy, DESPITE their own controversial past. A tale of ToS hypocrisy.

According to another user named TechGuyReloaded, this distrubing fur hole runs all over Discord. You say anything bad about furries? Boom, you're banned. Actually, you can report someone on Discord, and by simply saying that the user said a derogatory word about furries, and give them no proof, the reported user can GET BANNED. Wait, what?! I couldn't believe, but I had to accept it...

Then, Nick Monroe, the one who is reporting about this, said this in all caps... 'DISCORD STAFF DEFENDS UNDERAGE FURRY PORN BUT CLAIMS LOLI/SHOTA CONTENT IS HARMFUL.'
Proof being: https://www.oneangrygamer.net/2019/...t-claims-loli-shota-content-is-harmful/76168/

There is a relevant statement to what I just said above, posted as a image...

Then there is this relevant statement, which confirms that /r/Allthefoxes or whatever that idiot is, set up that policy. http://archive.is/fu7jr
....much to delight of degenarcy.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you see things... Someone made a diligent effort to try and report things to Discord, and they came back and chastised this person for participating in "mass reporting." http://archive.is/tFqVy

SHUFFY_YT made a video summary about that. And then Nick posted that... Yikes!

Nick then made another three images. ""Allthefoxes blocked my old account because I messaged him about it" says someone who wants to remain anonymous. Allthefoxes sucks at problem solving, by the look of it.", he said.

Then... There is that... Et voila... QuackityHQ's saga. He got banned from Discord, and the reasonings involves furries....?!

And this:

Nick is now saying that he can't stop fucking up!

Today, this thread is now continuing. BrintRevised made a video, launching the #ChangeDiscord hashtag. He then goes on to say that anyone can contact him if the user contacting him in question had a similar situation. by Jannigox.

ShinrinCole has also the same issue. And Nick just leaked a bit his profile, but it was public in the beginning anyways... https://archive.li/GHqIo
AND, https://i1.wp.com/nickmonroe.blog/w...t-c-vince-locktip-2019-01-23-01_02_15-png.png Be warned, those are furries sites!!

Nick says that him being degerate is relevant, given the impact it has on polities. Yes, he can't believe it. And I cannot believe it at all!! The list goes on, and on...!!

Then here is a shocking plot twist. SOMEONE sent him the image. There is no way to know if it's a hoax or not, but this user 'The Furgilante' is acting like some villian here. He says that he reported over 14 servers, and some of the servers even GOT ALL users banned. Outer Heaven, Confederate States of America, Aesthetic, and such on... he insists that we could be next...!?
Ugh, this guy is so annoying!!

He's now reporting that Reddit is silencing the Furry situation. Discord is now censoring all posts involving the situation... what the hell!?

And there is this reply from the director of Discord ToS. Wow, this guy is being downvoted so hard, and he deserves it. https://www.reddit.com/user/karrdian/comments

More images of his reasoning. And oh god, a image of the mod deleting a guy's post...!! And he showcases the impact on Discord's reputation, because of this thread.

He's asking Discordapp to fix this issue immediately. And Haruyuih posted a story about Discord's failure to handle a pedophile... yuck. A video from TechGuyReloaded, referencing the whole situation.

However, there is a shocking truth. Haruyuih tried to post this to get attention, he was immediately banned. There is a lot of censor!!

Then finally... the little bashing. Remember how QuackityHQ got banned for raiding? Verliswolf has actually a VERY LONG story about this, and of course, it involves /r/allthefoxes! I can't believe this at all! https://i0.wp.com/nickmonroe.blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Verlis1.png

And... https://i2.wp.com/nickmonroe.blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Verlis2.png

This is proof that the guy GAVE proof, and yet, the user wasn't banned DESPITE ALL THOSE PROOF! Those emails doesn't even show the whole story. There were 3 separate reports, and ALL of them were ignored unill one of the mods threatened to make them public. They got reply in 5 minutes but then it took 6 weeks for them to do anything.

So.... what do we do now? I don't hate furries, nor do I dislike them in any way, but this... is really concerning. This... This feels like a bad feeling. What do we do about this? Basically, Nick is asking us to spread this discussion to raise awareness about it. So, I am going to post this.

Take it as that will. I'm not sure what will be happening to Discord soon enough. It's my favorite platform which replaced Skype and Whatsapp for me, but this situation is really troubling.

It doesn't surprise me. I'll keep using the platform since this is circumstantial, and I think Discord has the right to absolve themselves of this and turn things around. That's a lot of evidence against them, and the behavior looks pretty well ingrained at this point. A shame.

It may be worth adding a TLDR in there, as I've read through this a few times and I'm still trying to figure out what the core issue is.

It sounds like Discord publicly has been pretty clear that any content that is deemed as depictions of children or child-looking characters are not allowed...and the same would follow for Fur art that falls under that same categorization. This part feels like it's ok.

...beyond that it sounds like the staff in charge of moderation/administration of the platform are letting their personal views on things dictate the actual punishments instead of just having clearly defined and enforceable TOS guidelines. This notion of "not being able to disclose punishment details because of privacy" doesn't really make sense to me, as even video games with reporting systems will let you know if your report yielded some kind of response.

If Discord is held liable for content posted on it's platform, it would dramatically change how the service is used. Right now anyone can start up a server and post whatever they want on it with essentially no checks/balances that I'm aware of. It would be on the people within the server to report anything bad is going on (someone can correct me if I'm wrong).

By it's nature it seems to invite bad actors to do bad things on it and just maintain a tight member list so they can operate without interference.

At the very least it seems like Discord's got a consistency problem with their support staff. Potentially maliciously so... so going through traditional support channels wouldn't be the way to do it.

A TLDR would go a really long way in encouraging discussion. Seems like a very deep rabbit hole that may or may not all lead back to this one dude.

This should give you some better insight on the whole cub thing

https://www.polygon.com/2019/1/30/18203692/discord-nsfw-policy-furry-cub

for a tldr on that, if the cub is humanoid then it's a strict nono but if it's more animal then it somehow gets a pass because according to them it's not loli/shota.....just images of underage animals getting banged

I've added the TLDR post, for anyone not willing to read through the long essay I made.
Thanks. I still don't think I get it though, having read the whole thing.

So to start at the beginning, there are allegations being made against Discord over its service being used for criminal activity and child grooming. This makes sense.

But... Furries are involved? Are they somehow getting caught up in the cleanup as Discord moves to excise the aforementioned criminal activities from its service?

And this /u/allthefoxes being allegedly to blame, is the idea that they're using the confusion over the mess to further some agenda of their own by... banning furries? Or that they're taking a sledgehammer-like approach and banning people en masse without investigating the context?

At *clap* least *clap* they *clap* deplatformed *clap* accused *clap* Nazis. *clap*

Discord's questionable policies don't end there. This is obviously less controversial, and maybe slightly off topic, but I want to mention it to further highlight their hypocrisy.

I've been playing FFXIV for years. Recently (the last year or so) the modding community for the game has taken off. @JohtoFFXIV on twitter made a trainer for the game that works similarly to cheat engine afaik, as in it reads memory values and modifies them. However, it was not in anyway a cheat, hack, or exploit. All it did was simply change appearance and animation values, it was made purely to be a screenshot helper tool that allowed for greater freedom and customization that the games built in screenshot tool did not allow for. Johto and his co-developer went painstakingly out of their way to ensure that the trainer could not do anything to exploit the game in any way, to the point a feature was removed last year because it was a little too far on the black side of the grey area.

However, the FFXIV community has some fairly vile people in it, and they've been the subject of harassment by people. Last year their Discord was hacked and their server deleted. Discord at the time restored their account and server both, but either they did not check the contents of the server, or they have decided since then to change policy because they were recently banned from Discord, and their server deleted for the following reason:

GKOgt.png

The hypocritical part of this a very well known infamous botting program has a discord server, and discord has done nothing about this server. I personally have reported this server two days ago and have yet to receive a response from their team.

As far as I can tell, Discord's exceptionally broad definition for what constitutes hacking/whatever also means that the modding discord for the game is also against ToS. Which is absurd, because the extent of FFXIV mods are texture and models swaps that do nothing but modify client side aspects of gameplay and have no effect whatsoever beyond that.

From what I understand on the furry aspect, is that the furry staff from trust and safety shaped some of discords rules to allow furry degenerate shit while banning the same stuff if it's human. People see this as hypocritical since a lot of the Discords staff is furry and they are only allowing the crap they like

Discord is a far leftist safe space. Congregations of esoteric deviants frolic in the meadows of such places, seeking out all the innocent little chipmunks and squirrels. It begins with the term 'art' and ends with grooming of physical specimens.

Do any of these people even use discord for videogames?

I usually have this feeling whenever i read a Michele post. Its always some percieved lawlessness but it never gets anywhere.

FWIW even with the TLDR i still don't get it.

GAF is on Discord too.
