There really ought to be laws about naming your kids. It's like the first test of parenting and some people just fail it miserably. Social Services should just swoop in and nab that child already.

A Shining Example
This is pretty bad but not nearly as bad as a guy I grew up with. I went to elementary school with Luke Sky Walker.

The guy lived a block over from me and every time someone met him there was ALWAYS a Star Wars joke. He absolutely hated it too.

He would tell people his name and say just "Luke Walker" and more often then not they would respond with "is your middle name Sky?". And he would frown and be like "......yes".

I have a friend who's called Gerry McGuire. The only time I've said 'that', was purely accidental, I didn't even realise for a while.

Also my brother knows someone called Michael Knight.

In both cases though, they were named long before.

The thinking behind it is basically sound, though. Naming after popular literature stretches as far back as the Bible, if not further. If it had been Barret, or Cloud, or even Cid, no sweat...
