They made gaming - FUN!

I don't think Am2 and Yu Suzuki really made that many truly fun games. They have made some classics such as VF and F355 and to a lesser extent the original Daytona but then they have done completely shallow efforts like Space Harrier and Out Run, and more recently Out Run 2.

Kid Chamelion??? Oh man I had fun with that back in the day.

So did I. The "Wall" in that game still kicks me in the balls though. Thing still intimidates me no matter how much older I get.

I've been banging on about this game for ages, and will continue to do so. So much depth to it (that you don't intially realise), and amazingly playable and fun. But why is this in an AM2 thread?

I guess what made old games fun was that there was constantly something happening. You were always shooting something, dodging something, jumping something. Never a dull moment. Nowadays nothing really happens in games. Even action packed games like GTA feature long sequeences where you are basicly doing nothing.

Extremely valid point.

What the fuck? That game looks just like Adventure Island! What's the story behind this? How did Hudson somehow aquire the rights to it from Sega/Activision? Or did they just copy it?

From what I heard, it was Hudson who copied the idea but I can be wrong.

That's what happens when you focus on mimicking reality and stop making actual games.

Hudson licensed the game from Westone because they wanted to get a Takahashi game out really quick for the Famicom.

By the way, this

is AM2. That did not make gaming fun.
