Things you enjoy in life aside from gaming?

Curious about this. I've just started a new job so haven't had as much time for my hobbies. It's made me assess what makes me truly happy so I can organise my time better.

Atm I'm basically getting most enjoyment from reading, the gym, teaching myself web design, games, films and my job (probably in that order).

Socialising is missing because I currently live in a rural area. Working on that but it is what it is right now.

Et tu, brute?

Basketball. I enjoy playing it a lot as I was raised watching the Lakers thanks to my father

I also enjoy writing music since my head is always busy and I find myself freestyling unintentionally

I can go on and on about the things I enjoy but gaming is my #1 go to

Work... :(
I am an Executive Chef for Hyatt so that takes up a lot of time time (another reason switch is my primary gaming device). I used to snowboard quite a bit, I have a lot of tattoos. I can play Bass, Guitar and Piano. X-men Comic nerd

I am a boring guy.
Games and anime/manga/LNs/science fiction and fantasy books.
Shooting (skeet/trap, target).
Skiing in winter.

What I would love to do but don't have time
-ATV
-snowmobile
-real mountain biking (as in actually biking down the mountain at crazy speeds, scary as shit but fun).
-get myself a Harley or an Indian Chief.

All sorts of stuff, but primarily fitness and photography these days. Thinking about starting up another camera gear/photography thread in the Communities forum, but I'm still trying to gauge interest.

oh shit i forgot to mention guns, love guns
Only time I've shot guns is in Vegas where you blow $200 and shoot like 40 bullets! lol

I tried an M16 with red dot scope thinking I'll ace the targets like it's fucking call of duty. My shots were always off. I was just as shit with a pistol. BUT, using an old ass iron sight WWII gun (I forget what it was), I was hitting targets like a champ.

I think I did worst with the pistol.

Talk about weird results.

Usually Archery and Cricket but I try to hike when I have free time. I also enjoy hunting a lot when I have extended vacations.

Every now and then I think about archery. But have only done it a few times at an archery range using their provided gear. Not hard to hit the wooden block. Even the first time I did it, I only had a few arrows whiz by and miss everything. But yeah, getting anything close to bullseye was impossible.

Maybe I'll do it more often. Don't think I have enough interest to spend $100s to buy my own set of gear.

Politics because the polarized state of affairs makes bouncing between left and right-leaning news sources highly entertaining. Political correctness and "social justice" soured my general view of movies, TV and late night comedy, but bouncing between Fox News and MSNBC or hopping on Twitter to watch the two extremes opine on everything more than makes up for it.

Yeah we have a training centre where you can borrow the gear for a week so getting my own gear isn't really an issue. There's no need to invest your hard earned money in a hobby you're not really interested in tbh.

The obvious would be what my avatars imply, but I also enjoy reading books/manga, drawing, taking walks outside of town while listening to podcasts and music.

Do you ever feel constrained by that? I get the feeling we're alike in wanting a more outdoorsy life but not feeling like we have time.

I dabble in lots of things, but they tend to come and go. The one hobby that has stuck most recently has been darts. I've been playing in a league the past few years and it's been a lot of fun, albeit frustrating at times.

Nice. I used to have a board as a kid and made up tournaments to play against myself. Sounds weird but... yeah.

What's frustrating about it?

Writing, otherwise just the usual, movies/TV/music.

I also have three young kids who take up the majority of my time.

It's one of those games where you think you've got it figured out one night, only to soon realize that you, in fact, do not. Having a bit of a competitive streak, when the darts aren't flying your way on a league night, and you're not sure why, it can be aggravating. I've seen great players throw poorly though, so it's best to just accept that it happens to everyone.

If anything else, it's a good excuse to get together with friends for a few beers once or twice a week though.
