Third party PC pad>Xbox 360 gamepad converter

OMFG HOLY MOTHER OF MARY IN HEAVEN I CANT BELIEVE IT WTF WHERE ARE MY SEDATIVES AAAAHHH
Hello. I was wondering....will standard PC controllers work with the Xbox 360? If not, what are the chances a third party like Lik Sank or whoever will create an adaptor that will allow this? I really really REALLY want to use a certain non force feedback wheel with my Xbox 360! Will it be a simple driver solution?

There is no chance.

Come now, isamu.
As a Ridge Racer fan, I thought you'd prefer the digital control method anyway... that's how it's meant to be played :P

forget about using the ecci isamu. it just wont work even if you made an adapter for it yourself.
it needs builtin drivers in RR6, witch isnt gonna happen

just give up and buy rfactor :)

I still don't understand why Microsoft doesn't just support the Driving Force Pro. Or at least the PC version of the Driving Force.

No support due to lack of funds made from such venture.

If they were smart, they would charge for the drivers rather then giving no support at all.

I'm guessing drivers were written for the DFP by someone at Bizarre. If only so they could use it. I know I'd do it if I was working on that game.

Hello Hajaz...good to hear from you home skillet :)

No disrespect dawg, but you are misinformed :)

The ECCI is not....I repeat is NOT a force feedback wheel! It is an "oldskool" wheel operated on both a spring loaded mechanism and a fluid damping system(see more *HERE*)

Bottomline is, whether Namco, Bizarre, or any other racing game developer puts FF code into the game is irrelavant with this wheel, since it in no way relies of FF technology. You simply turn it left or right, and you are met with an incredibly smooth, lifelike and resistant tension that is paralled only by an actual automobile. I plan on sending this wheel to someone that will take the PCB circuit board from an existing Xbox 360 wheel, and place it into the ECCI so that the Xbox 360 is tricked into thinking the ECCI wheel is the original 360 wheel. Makes sense? :)

Somebody will try to make an adapter, and MS will sue them if they succeed.
They simply can't succed without MS approval. Xbox 360 uses a signal encription/signing for every peripheral, including controllers. So noone can create an accessory for the console without having MS providing them the security key for making them work.

Yes, I suppose with some electronics knowledge you could disassemble some existing controller and feed its circuitry from another unlicensed one. But it's obviously something homebrew, andyou need to break up a working controller.

seems like the ECCI wheel is $800+ american, so i guess he wont mind taking apart a 40 dollar controller :P

...i really wanted one of those wheels, clutch and everything on them...then i saw the price and cried :(

are you unemployed or something? In my opinion if you can afford internet access then you can afford an ECCI wheel :)

I'm impressed you already surrender...It would have been nice to have weekly threads about that new TFF wheel for the X360 (that at the end is not TFF)...

hmm.. so youre saying any wheel will work minus the FF, if you mod it?
I guess theres a possiblity :s
how would you calibrate it etc though? (or are you assuming there will be some wheel support, just not FF)
