This is a great feel good moment. The Goonies surprise Richard Donner via a prank (caught on video)

Donner: "Damn, I"m sooo tired of this film, I just need to unwind."

Cast: "Hey Richard, we are all here on your vacation!!!"

Donner: "Goddamnit!" :p

And I hope some parents came out, lotsa young kids in that cast.

One of the best movies of all time. The 80s was truly the golden era of cinema.
Equal parts light hearted with legit dark moments that required parents to talk with thier kids. They rarely treated kids like morons. Focus on special effects and well-done artistry, instead of having it all done post-production.

the 80s and 90s were so much better than the majority* of modern films.

Young Thanos there to snap his vacation time out of existence.

Sean Astin sounding just like Mikey in real life is great too.

Aw man, thanks OP, this is great. I was lucky enough to have The Goonies on VHS as a kid and must have watched it a good 200-300 times, no exaggeration. It was pretty much an obsession and I could basically recite the whole thing beginning to end. Favorite film of all time on sheer sentimental value.

Jeff Cohen rambling on and on just like Chunk and getting under Donner's skin is pretty hilarious, lol

Wish they'd make adventure movies like this now.
It seems so obvious, right? I know it's easy to point at some of the most beloved films of the past 40 years and say "that! Do that" but man, it seems like there were so many cool ideas around in the 80s and 90s, and part of the charm was that films were a self contained story.

Now, it's got to be a trilogy minimum, preferably with a universe, and everything is cgi. And it has to be a comic book. And if it's from DC and isn't Batman, it's got to be awful.
