I think my issue with anything that involves fanboys is that for people that love THEIR HOBBY, they sure are poor. If you don't own every console and a bitchin' gaming PC, you have no business calling yourself a gamer. That would be like owning one brand of car that can only drive to certain destinations, so they'd bitch and moan about the shitty weather of the places they couldn't drive to.

It's super disappointing to see what has happened in the last 24 hours - the entire page is Halo hot takes. I get the impression we don't much care for close moderation over here, but these discussions should be consolidated.

I first joined GAF for the gaming but find myself here more often because all the drama.

It really is funny. My current PC rig is comparable to a next gen console, and I'm considering going through KotOR for the umpteenth time or giving Fable Anniversary a go.
Probably a HUGE part of why I loved that Halo Infinite footage. PC owner have had "next gen graphics" and SSDs for yeeeaarrrs now. I just want a fun game. That shit looked fun.

Absolutely. It's pretty cringe. Graphics, Graphics, Graphics, SSD speed, 12 Teraflops, 4k, 60fps, Ray Tracing or no buy, yadayada.
Yet, I think that's really the smallest problem (actually no problem at all) of next gen. Bigger problem is that, so far, most games showcased look way too formulaic and/or fucking boring.
