to be fair i did see the mods locking some topics. i wouldnt want to see them getting too hands on though, it is a video game discussion board after all.

but i 100% agree with you that they coudl at least be merged/consolidated. and yes, we do this every generation, it just seems like its getting more and more hateful, like people are never going to be fucking happy lol. personally im stoked for halo, not worried about graphics just excited about the idea of a more open world halo (and not just this game but hopefully it spawns some other open world halo stuff, like star citizen/NMS style)

like i was saying in other topics, im still playing games like skyrim and no mans sky, and on vr where it blurry as shit. but im enjoying so much i couldnt care less about the graphics. cant wait to jump into the ring and explore it. im really hoping they open the ring up for full on exploration, or atleast large enough sections that it feels huge.

I don't actually care that much, lol. A lot of people are really passionate about the subject and that makes a lot of sense.

I'd like to see some consolidation for where people are just making the exact same hot takes that would all fit into one thread just fine, though.

New generations of consoles only happen once every 6-10 years. I think it's good for the gaming side to have a bit of conversation and fun with this. Just take it all in stride and don't get baited into anything and you'll be just fine OP.

oh hell no im not getting baited into it, im laughing at it :messenger_tears_of_joy: those people are being a bunch of idiots. and yeah i agree it doenst need to be silenced, maybe a tiny bit more merging could have happened but like you said its only once a generation. i just wanted to make a topic over here to kick it around and have fun with it, and counter all the sweatiness over there

Well, both PS5 and XSX presented lame as fuck games and graphics.

TLOU2 has better graphics than anything shown by both Sony and Microsoft on their recent conferences, and nothing comes even close to the Unreal Engine 5 tech demo.

So yeah, if you've been following video-games and like the tech side of it, it's pretty disappointing.

The only time I have a problem with graphics is when the game suffers for it. I grew up with nes, so I usually don’t have a problem. I just couldn’t get on board with FF7 after playing Chrono Cross though

just noticed its looking cleaned up over there.

so i just went back about 7 or 8 pages on gaming side and saw a dozen or so topics related to halo reveal, xbox showcase and general console war fuckery, all locked/merged. so kudos to mods around here being cool and letting people who like that kind of stuff have their chance to duke things out, but also for being cool to the rest of us and locking/merging them after 24 hours or so.

I stopped caring about graphics mid way through current gen cycle. I haven't played a game in recent memory where the graphics hurt my enjoyment of the game. What that said, they were disappointing for Halo Infinite's reveal.

I'm that guy who goes to the gaming side and lights up every time a retro thread pops up. I had one of my threads get buried (no reads, no posts) a couple days ago with all the warring going on over there. I love the gaming side but true-be-told...I never purchase new consoles (not since the PS3). So, seeing as how things can get ugly with siding, the 9TF versus thing, and MS vs Sony vs Nintendo; I tend to spend more time right here in Off-Topic. I'm not going to say that the thread I made that got buried was gold but I was unaware that the trending threads were pretty much the whole versus thing. I've also written in many threads: all manufacturers and developers have their good and bad...I won't take sides.

There's always something good over there and we'll probably get some positive/fact-based news about newer games and consoles. However, when it's not that -- it's 20 threads about TLOU 2, Ghosts of Tsushima, or Halo Infinite. Yikes!

Just as bad though is when you praise something about one brand and talk about the how another does something poorly everyone wants to label you a fanboy or console warrior.
I've owned literally EVERY north american console from Sega, Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft.
I think that earns me the right to praise or be disappointed in one company or the other.

What is this crap? A lot of the same posters here talking shit where over on gaming side caught up in the hype for these shows by MS and Sony like everyone else.

That's not even going into the weeks, if not months of people arguing over teraflops and SsD and blah blah blah hardware for what felt like for forever. Get off your high horses
