This is real next generation Tomb Raider!

Holy crap!

This is what I wanted from the outset of this generation. Fortunately Crystal Dynamics seems willing to fill the void left by the assclowns from Core / Eidos.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed this won't stink.

Platforming looks quite a bit like the new PoP titles which isn't a bad thing. They still need to clean up some of the transition animations when grabbing stuff mid jump, though it looks much better then the last video they released.

The platforming DOES look quite fun.

Am I the only one who thinks the character model seems like it could be accomplised on a current gen console?

Well fuck me...

That does look like fun. I bet those platforming puzzles are gonna be fun to try and figure out. The controls had better be spot on for this one.

I may actually be buying my first Tomb Raider game since the year 2000.

the video is from the PS2 version i assume? if not: the watereffects could be nicer. despite of that it looks really promising. i really hope this game is more about exploration and less action.

It looks fun...very nice animations, atmospheric environments and sound. Camera seemed a bit twitchy at times, I hope they keep the framerate stable.

Looks like a pretty good effort. I winced while watching the gameplay though. I just don't think I could go back to that... In the trailer it looks like essentially a prettier version of what it was in 1996.

The platforming looked kind of slow and not so fun. The puzzles will have to be pretty creative. That's what kept PoP and Ico interesting.

looks great to me. i love good adventure games and this is definately doing a lot right. just needs more polish on the transitional animations and shore up the frame rate.

The only off-looking thing I see are her legs. Aren't they a little too bent when she is running? Other than that it looks like the TR franchise finally got a worthy game, I'm happy :)

PS2, Xbox and PC with a much rumored Xbox 360 game in the works (mentioned by Eidos long time ago, but they are hush about its status)

Ohhhh. Okay, then. This makes sense. Nevermind what I said before, then.

back then I couldn't understand why they made Tomb Raider 2, I guess some people like their women with triangle boobs and horrible controls

Next gen Tomb Raider looks a lot like the first Tomb Raider. It has come full circle.

(I'm talking gameplay of course)

I'm amazed! I knew Crystal Dynamic was probably a good choice instead of Core.
So far so good, i feel that Tomb Raider vibe that i missed so much.
This gen is fabulous! Resident Evil returns glorious and now Tomb Raider??

It looks good and all but its about 3 years late, this is a game that should have come out in 2003 at the latest. I dont' mean it looks old or anything , I'm just saying that th efranchise could still be alive if the game came in 2003 with this game instead of that god awful angel of darkness game that killed lara crofts' popularity.

There was a heabvily implied X360 shot in June (?) issue of Game Informer they handed out at E3. Just looked like others shots with Bloom though. :lol

Looks pretty damn good, but for the love of god do something about the Lara Croft model-it looks terrible. It would be a shame for a game this pretty to get dragged down by a poor main character model.

Tomb Raider has always been about marveling over the exotic locales, so I can live with another wonky Lara. Although I think this one is perfectly fine. At the very least a damn sight better than the alien original. The new outfit kind of gives me a Garou Terry Bogard vibe. :P

Animation looks off, but i guess that will be soted out near release. Still, puzzels look like fun, and this version of TR had me excited since e3.

Aside from the skimpy outfit, what's wrong? This character model is leagues beyond any of the previous ones.

I just read the IGN preview of the game. They didn't say anything about an Xbox 360 version. They did say that the difference between the Xbox, PC and PS2 versions is that the Xbox and PC will be at 60fps while the PS2 version will be at 30fps.

Wow, that looks fantastic, it brings back all the old memories of the origional Tomb Raider. I'm a huge sucker for TR games, even though every game in the series after II has sucked hard (and II was really more of the same, but that was fine in 1997),I've at least rented them all anyways, and even enjoyed parts of AOD. This TR looks like a blast to play, and the combat looks a little faster paced, wich is something I've wanted for years.) The PC version will be mine (PSP version please???)

The first part with the bridge made think this could be a return to the greatness of the first Tomb raider. Then came much too much action, too many humans and too fast a pace. Give me a call when it's once again about exploration, wolves and a dinosaur. In fact, just give me a remake of the first Tomb Raider on 360 or PS3.

"WHY HALO THAR PRINCESS OF PERSIA."

Looks cool, but that's ^^ what lept to mind while watching the trailer. Crystal Dynamics is a pretty solid dev house but that's all they are in my opinion, solid not spectacular. I hope this at least makes a fun rental, which it very well may.

I fail to see the hype here...Never been a fan of the Tomb Raider games but this just seems like a PoP clone with crappier combat.

My only question.. How could she be hanging from a cliff and then be able to propel herself straight up to grab on to a cliff above her?

Game looks pretty good, havent played Tomb Raider since the original.....man those controlls sucked back then ~_~

as many have said, looks a lot like PoP ....wonder if this game will have a sequal ...lara can get a leaher suit, have some godsmack tunes, and one of the main bosses will be some angry guy in a g-string and you will have to fight him 5 times in the game?.....wait... that kinda sounds like Bloodrayne :P

I didn't like it too much. Too many newer games these days interest me more than this Tomb Raider game. It does have that ummmph. It does not have that life in it like a MGS3 game.
