The sound effects were not added, the sabre makes them. This is the geekiest thing ever. I'm thinking about ordering one. This is quite the ultimate geek item. Too bad its so expensive

They actually aren't that great. The blades don't hold up to any abuse at all. There's a joke that if the wind hits them they'll shatter. The blades are also not the correct length and both the blades and sabers are too thick.

Parks Sabers makes custom sabers. The blades don't look NEARLY as nice as Master Replicas, but the blades can be removed and you can duel with these sabers without them shattering.

Edit: The Master Replicas sabers ARE more affordable than the Parks Sabers, so that is something to keep in mind. Just don't hit anything with the Replicas saber Also, the Parks Sabers don't make noise.
