This Vita bundle is insane... (Vita, mem card, AssCreed $179.99 WOW)

I thought this was worth a thread especially for anyone interested in purchasing a Vita

An Assassin's Creed 3 PlayStation Vita bundle is hitting Amazon.com today for $179.99, and will feature a white PS Vita, a 4GB memory card and copy of Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation for the handheld device.

Also included in the Thanksgiving deal is download code for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, 30-day code for PlayStation Plus and a $10 Gift Card toward Assassin's Creed 3 on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 consoles, an Amazon representative told Polygon.

This follows last week's reveal from Sony regarding an Assassin's Creed 3 Vita bundle including a PlayStation Vita limited Edition white Wifi device, Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation and a 4GB memory card for $199.99.

Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation received a 6 out of 10 from Polygon, stating "Ubisoft's desire to transcend low expectations for handheld spin-offs is clear."

After reading the first sentence I was thinking to myself wow yeah pretty good, and then:

Also included in the Thanksgiving deal is download code for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
wtf... that's 2 brand new games, 4gb card, $179.99. Why don't Sony just drop the price

That is insane. In those 30 days of PS+ you can easily complete the free Vita games (Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Jet Set Radio, WipEout, etc!) you get when you subscribe.

I guess this means I will be hovering over my PC as the timer goes up like I did when Uncharted 3 was $30 last year. That one sold out in about 10 seconds, but I managed to snag one.

edit: Also that article says this is happening today. Where? I don't see anything that could be this in the gold box section.

I like this ending line:

Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation received a 6 out of 10 from Polygon, stating "Ubisoft's desire to transcend low expectations for handheld spin-offs is clear."

If it got a 6/10 Ubisoft clearly failed their desire, lol.

Just a reminder for those of you interested that you're essentially getting Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Wipeout 2048, Gravity Rush, Jet Set Radio and Mutant Blobs Attack for the first 30 days of system ownership with this deal.

Super tempting, but until Ys Celceta is in English, there's no reason for me to own one (even then, I'm not so sure).

Gadget envy though, I might not have the willpower to wait.

If this is a lightning deal its going to sell out in like a minute tops shrug. I hope this is the all day deal they have planned for tomorrow (although the article says its today?)

Hoping I can get on this. GS should still be giving like $120-130 for a black Vita on Friday (thanks to double credit) so its the perfect time to swap (and really come out ahead with this deal). Because the white one is super sexy.

What? How does that work? I just bought this the other day, is there a code thing inside this package?

But at least they tried? :P

Get on it people. It's a well known fact that Vita owners are 60% more fertile and 12% taller than non-Vita owners. Also, you get preferential seating in certain restaurants and sporting venues.

Lightning Deals are the worst.

'preferential'. Seperate but equal.

PlayStation Plus includes all those games for free once you activate it.
You'll have them so long as you keep your Plus subscription active.
If you've got a 30-day Plus code included in your bundle, you're all set to go.

It is, but I still like my black vita.

Now if it was the Blue one on the other hand........

PS All-Stars Battle Royale is a 1.3GB download. If you don't want to devote that much memory card space to the game you could give it to me ...

He's referring to PlayStation Plus.

wow! Neat

This is a really good deal. Did they finally hit the panic button?

3DS got its price cut because retailers informed Reggie they would not be ordering for Black Friday; nor would the 3DS be given much focus.

So it seems this is a short term fix just to stay relevant on Friday.
Panic Button? Am not sure - but PS+ if done right is surely a way to make losses back.

Hopefully. I think the Vita is the wrong tech entirely but the handheld market will be healthier with 2 systems, not just 1.

Wrong tech entirely? What does that mean?

Can't even buy a Wii U controller for $79.

You can't even play Mario U with a pro controller!

So, let me get this straight the bundle includes:

- Vita
- Assassin's Creed retail copy
- PSABR download voucher
- 4GB MC
- 30 Days PS+

For $180?

Damn good deal, too hard to pass up

Hey OP, put this one in the post it's for UK GAF.

£230 nets you The CoD Vita, CoD, NFSMW, Fifa 13 and a 4gb card.

Then buying a 3 month PS+ sub for £12 will get you Uncharted, Mutant Blobs Attack, Gravity Rush and Chronovolt this month and 2 more next month and 2 more the month after!

So for under £245 you get a Vita and 7 games!

The WiFi Vita on its own is typically £200!

If you don't want NFSMW or Fifa you can trade them in to Amazon for £17 & £15 respectively.

Too hard to be able to purchase it. I'd possibly cave if the sale lasted more than 5 seconds.

Oh I think its too powerful and if Sony pull things out the bag, some of the best Vita games will never use its full potential. They'd have been better being similar to the 3DS imo. They'd have been able to undercut Nintendo too.

Software problems would remain, but they'd have shared more third parties with Ninty.
With the touch; Vita could have had its first Layton game etc.
