Can we reach an agreement that BBQ Pizza is not Pizza, for it only possesses two of the three required pillars of Pizza identity?

How did you write 'girl cheese' twice? Unless you really think it is called a girl cheese sandwich and have been saying it all your life not noticing the odd looks you were getting.

Soup and sandwich aren't pizza. So get out of here with that.

Pizza, what are the requirements. flat dough baked in an oven with sauce and toppings. BBQ Chicken would qualify as BBq is the sauce, and it is Tomato based. But we even have white Pizza where it is some sort of White sauce on the pie.

When I was 8 or 9 we lived like kings at Pizza hut and putting pineapple on a pizza was not thought of. Bring me my personal pan pizza with pepperoni.
 
I love pizza, I also love grilled cheese and soup.

I've been trying out new things in my grill cheese though. I've added flesh slide avocado to sandwiches ( you add them after they are toasted and still gooey) and of course, bacon. But my all time favorite is adding a slice of bologna to them. I know, it's essential trash, but I love it in a grilled cheese.

Best soup to pair it with is cream corn soup also.
 
I have nowhere else to share this so I'll post it here. I watched a video with Asmongold talking about how he heats frozen pizza and I saw him put on more peperoni on it. I was like "huh" so I tried it and boy did it make it an amazing experience. I actually felt full after putting on 50grams of slices. My stomach crashes if I eat a normal pizza from a restaurant, but frozen ones from the store are fine so I actually have good pizzas to look forward to.
 
BBQ chicken pizza is real and it exists. It is not a Dominos DEI hire.
Girl cheese and soup is just a poor mans calzone with dipping juice.

It's the Rachel Dolezal of Pizza. It wants to identify as Pizza and some people are "nice to it" because they're p***ies, but it can never truly be Pizza without tomato based sauce.

I like a gorgonzola cheese with mozzarella. It is amazing. Soft mozzarella with a strong gorgonzola. . And I use a nice hearty bread like seeded killer Davess. It's different but so good with a tomato soup. Extra flavor if you add some caramelized onions.

If anything BBQ chicken pizza at least has some tomato as part of the BBQ sauce base recipe making it more pizza then the authentic 400+ year old pizza recipes from Italy that don't have tomato sauce.

That's BS and you know it.

You remove one leg on a three legged you immediately no longer have a stool. Cheese, bread, tomato sauce are the holy trinity. There are dumb Italians too.

yeah I'm ok with whatever on pizza. I don't care and like a good sauce topping combo. I don't care about tomato sauce. I can take it or leave it.

What's your stance on olive oil base pizzas, just fancy cheese bread? Cuz I think I could agree with you there.

However, BBQ sauce is just a spiced up tomato sauce and my vote reflects that. In a grilled cheese the bread begins already baked and it's sandwich bread... a pretty far cry from a pizza crust so I believe it must be disqualified as yet another variety of fancy cheese bread.

I'm not offended if someone thinks an olive oil pizza is a pizza. I would classify it as "pizza adjacent". At least your circling the correct food culture.

BBQ doesn't even come from the same continent as Italy. It has no place on a pizza as anything more than a sad gimmick. Its a truck stop food condiment.

Let's stop this charade. It's madness.

A BBQ sauce is tolerable, usually with more toppings than less, but it's far from my favourite.

I will always take a tomato pizza over a BBQ one. And a good pizza doesn't need toppings.
 
There are two kinds of pizza: pepperoni and plain. Ingredients include red sauce, white cheese and basic Italian seasonings. Pepperoni if you're feeling festive. Anything else is an open-faced flatbread sandwich.

The Italians steal a lot of things and make them better. Beretta took Walther's designs and made them sexy. They took basic noodles from China and made it into wonderful pasta. They stole the arches from the Etruscans and built coliseums and aqueducts. They took the Gladius and conquered the world with it. They learned about sex from the Greeks and realized you could have it with women. etc. The list goes on. Pizza is one thing that the US really carried them across the goal line with. True Italian pizza is lazily slung together and usually mid.

Ohhh so it is a classist thing. I mean I get it, BBQ sauce could be classed together with the likes of ketchup and ranch, an overly sweet, shelf stable, manufactured slop to dunk fast food chicken foam into.

But is BBQ sauce isn't just for hating yourself on a bad day, it has culinary merit! Especially when it's cooked for a while and takes on some caramelization (there's a fancy cooking word for ya) has a good amount of spice and heat, and is used in the proper balance with everything else.

I've had some bad BBQ pizzas with cheap sauce that quite frankly sullied the good name of BBQ sauce. You gotta go light sauce, make sure it's not too sweet, and dare I say it compliment with pineapple and chicken, red onions optional. Extra points for a tasteful BBQ swirl on top that gets extra caramelized.

That is a pizza pie my friend, the proof is in the enjoyment.
 
Best pizza with BBQ sauce is the New Orleans BBQ Chicken pizza from Dominos in Japan

Roast chicken and corn, but with regular tomato sauce, but then BBQ sauce on top. Also bonus because it's cheap as chips.
