A useless topic, and I expect useless replies.

Tina Wood, Miyamoto and the Nintendo Press Conference!

Man! What a day! First day of E3 and what a blast. First though, let me absolutely defend myself with the Nintendo Press Conference. I did not recieve one single penny do demo Nintendogs. In fact, when I flew up to Seattle to meet with Nintendo I spent over $100.00 on GBA games. I did not do this to kiss the rears of Nintendo. I did it for the company I work for and am passionate about and the opportunity to work with a man I absolutely admire. I knew I would take heat for doing this and I welcome and understand it. But if I did this job because I cared what people thought then I would have given Starfox a ten a long time ago. Get paid? Please, I can't even get invited to the E3 parties.

Uh, what?

"Hi, I'm a worthless on-screen personality who was hired because I'm moderately attractive. Okay, now that I have journalistic integrity, and do not even give games scores on the show I'm on, I'M GIVING THIS TWELVE YEAR OLD GAME A TEN."

One thing that infuriates me about this ho: "Hi, caller! What's your name and what do you want to talk about?"

Bitch, someone screens your phone calls. The producer undoubtedly provides you with both my name and topic of my phone call.

...

Why SHOULDN'T she have been paid? She did a professional (OK, that's arguable) presentation during a national press conference for a company trying to promote their product... I guess it's the whole argument of "Well, she also reviews games," but I assume the DJ got paid for his work, for example, why shouldn't she?

Whats really sad is that in her comments, someone actually writes, "...so you're saying that you weren't paid for the Nintendogs speech?"

As if she was speaking chinese in her blog!

Well....I thought it was kind of wierd to have her on-stage when she is supposed to be objective when covering gaming news. Especailly since she handles alot of the writing/producing duites for the network. Not saying she got moneyhats, but to go on stage and actively try to promote Nintendo can easily be seen as not exactly responsible. That is if you take your job seriously.

i'd care a lot more about her "defense" if it involved explaining the situation as to how we got to see her naked boobies, like some other G4 personalities.

Well, the DJ doesn't write for half the shows on a videogame-based channel either.

Moneyhats? Doesn't that imply some sort of integrity? She's a boobholder for video game programming. I thought she'd be apologizing for being part of one of the worst e3 conferences of all time.

Say what? We got to see her naked boobies?

Like most people in this thread I first thought... why is Tiger Woods posting here? Then I thought... why would a DOA character have to defend themselves? Now that I know who it is... I still could care less....

I'll chime in with another "don't care, more boobies please." She takes her role too seriously.

if you review games that a company makes i think its a rule of thumb to not be on the payroll of the company.

Well Microsoft owns 100 million shares of Comcast, which of course owns G4, so they've got other issues if they're worried about not appearing objective.

man that part with Tina @ the Nin10do press conference was just embarrassing to watch. Terrible...

not as half as embarrasing as the DJ bit. While, Trinden made Electroplankton funny + OH WOW.. that DJ dude just made it look sad.

Who is Tiger Woods?
I am Tiger Woods.

Sorry, someone had to do it.

If this Tina Woods considers herself a real journalist, it's unethical for her to promote a company's products, regardles of whether she was paid.

Of course, G4TV and integrity (journalistic or otherwise) didn't exactly go together before the Nintendogs incident either.

She's wrote several episodes of Icons...at least according to the episode credits.

Writer - filmography

1. "Filter" (2002) TV Series (writer)
2. "Player$" (2002) TV Series (writer)
3. "G4tv.com" (2002) TV Series (writer)
4. "Icons" (2002) TV Series (writer)
5. "Sweat" (2002) TV Series (writer)

True, but she only works on G4tv.com now. She used to work on those shows.

Looking at the credits of other shows on the network reveals different information. Maybe she recently stopped writing for other shows, but even as of very recently she did write for other shows.

What she needs to defend herself for is for participating in that terrible press conference.

No, it was Cat Schwartz.

Tina's cohost (Thug, or whatever) also showed her tits on some crappy .com video game job from the 90's (before the bust)

I think she was getting her nipple pierced or something.

It was one of the last episodes of JudgeCal's High Weirdness. They have the episodes free to stream on RealPlayer. I saw it myself long ago, but I checked again recently and noticed they censored the part where they pierce her nipple.

As for Tina, I have no goddamn clue why she was chosen to do this. Any G4-forum psoter knows Tina is a Halo-fangirl. LauraThug is the person Nintendo should have asked. She plays a wide variety of games and actually posts on the forums.
