i was ok with 30 fps (or lower) with the ps1 versions, i'm fine with it now. i'll be buying a psp for this game, btw. anything to get the old floaty controls back.

You haven't seen RR in action? This looks great, but not much better, that's for sure - and it runs at half the frame rate.

Yes, but gigaden't brought up a great point in one of his PSP troll posts.

In Ridge Racers there is rarely more than two cars on screen and it takes a long time to catch up to the AI.

Wipeout Pure does a better job of displaying opponents on screen (from what I have seen in the GS, IGN vids)

But Ridge Racers is beautiful, the tracks look great!

It's a design choice apparenty, not some limitation. I had moments in my races where there were three opponent cars on the screen (plus my car) - and the framerate never skipped a beat.

I'm not expecting this to look better or play better than F-Zero GX (F-Zero being my favorite racing series ever) but it does look pretty amazing. Maybe not quite as good as RR though.

It better not be as hard.

I thought the ice level in Wipeout 1 on phantom was the hardest race I had ever run (was phantom the hardest class in Wipeout 1? Whatever the hardest one was)
