TLoU:R Photomode Thread:I struggled a long time with compression [READ OP] [SPOILERS]

I was playing around with the close ups and couldn't decide which I liked best out of these two.

I'm advancing super slow thanks to grounded mode so all of this is from start of the game.

This one is just Joel running down the street in the intro. Amazing that they animated even the expressions we wouldn't see without photomode.

Really liked movement in this one. It's a contextual kill on one of the first enemies against a car bumper.

I wanted something to make Joel look as he is so I stopped him under a hanging lamp with a stark light and went nuts on 'noir' and contrast.

God. This is incredible. I just looked at this page to not get spoiled but wow. Every game (especially story based ones) should have a photo mode. This is a completely new way* of discovering a game, picturing and sharing an atmosphere, characters, travelling throughout the world and the playground built by the creators, enjoying your own experience and voyage in the levels. This is going far beyond the Wind Waker of GTA V cameras which were already great ways to take pictures....from the player's perspective.
*for most of the people, not only PC gamers with mods and all

But I don't think I'll spend too much time in it during my 1st run, or it will be 90% of the time playing with the photo tools and 10% playing the actual game.

Pretty sure this photomode stuff is going to double the length of my playthrough. XD

beautiful work, guys. I'm worried
if the sarah ones I saw above
are a bit spoilery -- not sure -- in any case, they're gorgeous.

I just got the game and photomode is so addicting! These are in 30fps mode.

This is just so beautiful. It's partly because the PS4 port looks nicer, yes, but most of it is just the fact that the original art was so incredible to begin with.

This character model is so amazingly good.

Consistently astounded at how good his model looks. Transferring the cut-scene one to gameplay has made a huge difference, not that he ever looked bad before.

Only games that look better in that area are Beyond and Crysis 3 I'd say. Impressive that two PS3 games would even make that list.

Ugh
Had a lot of unexpected family expenses this month. I hate missing out on the photo mode. So jealous of you guys.

Many talented people on GAF.

Devs should have noticed by now, put Photo Mode in your beautiful looking game and people will do the work regarding "bullshots".
Can't wait to see what else comes from this thread now that the game is officially out.
