TMNT: Melee pics

I'm all for TMNT. I'm a sad whore for it. :(
So what is this one? Is this just fighting in a boxed room with a bunch of win conditions?

God that looks exactly the damn same as the other ones. I'm a HUGE TMNT fan, love the new show as it is heavly based off the old comic series, but it looks like the team Konami picked to lead the TMNT games has no idea that their games suck. But they sell so I guess they have nothing to complain about.

Even on Battle Nexus they had the original arcade game unlockable on the game, and that alone would be worth the admission. But to me without the original sound effects, and music the game was rendered unplayable to me. That was a huge part of its charm back in the early 90's arcade scene.

I want another turtleÂ’s game with rockstedy, bebop, shredder, toca, razar, leatherhead, the ratking and krang.

I know I am going crazy but I just played turtles in time and I would love to experience it all again this gen :(

WHAT?! I've been wanting to pick up Battle Nexus cheap specifically for TMNT arcade, but had heard nothing of this. They actually removed the music and sound effects?? Why?? The music in that game (and especially Turtles in Time) is some of my all-time favorite game music, and I too would be devastated by its loss. What the hell.

Legal issues or some bullshit they probably could have gotten if they tried. Turtles in Time isn't on the game. So basically I played through the entire shitty game to unlock a piece of shit version of one of my favorite games ever. They added really bad electronica music, and all the new turtles say cowabunga when you "insert coin", and are completly silent besides that.

Urge to kill rising!!

I wonder will this be the same when they release Battle Nexus in Europe in March?

+1 MAME, that's terrible.

I was hoping this was a modern day Tournament Fighters.

(Like the SNES version, the Genesis and NES versions were shit.)

another worthless Konami Hawai release - Konami should just shup the studio down. meh.
The TMNT games are actually made by Konami Studio. Though I agree, Konami Hawaii should probably get the axe.

No PS2 version...?

Konami pulled a Sega!

Probably the fact the PS2 only has 2 controller ports. I mean it'd be like Smash Bros appearing on PS2 (if possible). 4 players = most fun!

I love TMNT but I refuse to buy any of these games. If only they were good :(

I thought this was gonna be a fighting game like TMNT: Tournament Fighters. 'member that? It was on the SNES and Genesis. Wasn't all that bad, Shredder kicked ass. :D

What, what what?

Is it too much to ask for a perfect port of TMNT The Arcade Game?!? We need an ultimate TMNT collection stat. Imagine a collection with:

TMNT: The Arcade Game
TMNT2: Arcade game
All four NES TMNT (Yes even TMNT2:Arcade from NES!)
TMNT: Hyperstone Heist on Genesis
TMNT Tournament Fighters on SNES

I'd pay 50 bucks for such a disc as long as KONAMI doesn't mess with it like they did on Battle Nexus. If they messed with any game I wouldn't buy it at all.

As for this Melee game, major meh.

Don't fortget the Genesis version of Tournament Fighter. It's not nearly as bad as everyone makes it be.

Okay, maybe it is.

how someone could miss TMNT 4 (both the arcade and SNES version).... the best TMNT game ever made... is BEYOND ME

There is...

Arcade

TMNT
TMNT: Turtles in Time

NES

TMNT
TMNT 2: The Arcade Game
TMNT 3: The Manhattan Project
TMNT: Tournament Fighters

SNES

TMNT: Turtles in Time
TMNT: Tournament Fighters

Genesis

TMNT: Hyperstone Heist
TMNT: Tournament Fighters *Not the same as the SNES

GameBoy

TMNT: Fall of the Foot Clan
TMNT 2: Back From the Sewers
TMNT 3: Radical Rescue

Missing are PC ports of the arcade, original NES version, another game made specifically for the PC, and the new incarnations of the TMNT games.

Manhattan Project was probably my favorite.

Its not my favorite, but it was one of the later NES games going into the SNES era. I recall they added yells and voice to the background music and the graphics were beefed up but all the color the NES could handle was used up. When it first came out I was floored, loved playing it.

I didn't. You lose! Manhattan Project was sweet. When I was a youngin this was before the time of the internet so I called Walmart every week for weeks on end until the game came out. :lol

so i saw the article

looked at the pics

and the only thing that came to mind was

"Konami is the new Capcom"

this phrase just stuck in my head

i am NOT looking forward to this game

I was thinking the lack of PS2 version meant the game graphics would be too much for PS2 to handle... looking at the screens, that's not the case... =(

Here here!

I am a TMNT fan myself, I remember going to Chuck E. Cheese every couple of weeks to fully complete the arcade game with a friend. The music and authentic voices kicked ass. The Battle Nexus version has no voices, and among the WORST game music ever. I couldn't stand it (not to mention you were forced to play with the shitty d-pad on the GC version).

Ah well, at least I still have Turtles in Time on SNES and Hyperstone Heist on Genesis.

I agree with this statement. This kid had It and supernintendo at the time.
We would unplug snes and play that game often.
And We had Street Fighter 2!!
