CD better not drop the ball with this.

Looks promising. I haven't been paying much attention to this game, but are they adding stealth elements to it? The level design in the shot where she's flipping over the pole looks like it favors her sneaking past those enemies.

Looks pretty good. The trailer looked really nice, though. The gameplay seems to have taken a massive jump forward (finally). I think people need to give it a fair chance...

Looks good. I mostly trust CD, but I'm still gonna try before I buy.

The first game was still pretty good. I think that if they bring the franchise back to its roots (i.e.: RAIDING TOMBS), the new game could be pretty good. Its when they took such a fun premise that really, no other games were doing, and turned it into Oversexed Heroine/Spies/Terrorists/Guns Blazing/etc that it really fell apart. Focus on exploring, puzzles, awesome underground areas and lost civilizations with cool artifacts and treasures to find... then whatÂ’s not to like?

And for some reason I saw this billed as an Xbox360 game at Gamespot... but it doenst look like anything the current crop of machines coulnd't do.

And the graphics are pretty nice. The outdoor area in the first shot needs some more work, but the others look pretty good.

I'm cautiously psyched. I love the first TR, but the returns diminished very quickly with each cash-in. I actually think this looks damn good, but I hope CD doesn't overcomplicate the controls as the series is want to do.

Please give the girl some long pants when she's cold, k?

I feel that the model isnt completly done. It doesnt seems to fit with the backdrops in certain pictures. The backdrops seems pretty nice.

Some textures are pretty low res tho :|

I hope the model isn't complete. In some screens it looks great while in others it looks like she has some form of skin cancer...especially around the face.

I feel that you have the other half of my Avatar!!! :lol

Not much new here, but it still looks nice to me. The trailer showed a few too many urban environments for my preference, but hopefully these won't be a big part of the game, and I like how these sorts of areas are looking so far.

Is essence, I'd love a remake of Tomb Raider 1 or 2 with these graphics. Let's hope that's the direction CD are really taking.

It's not going to feel that much different or new if Lara still controls like a tank. IMO, the worst part of the Tomb Raider games has always been the controls.

Based on the video, there is no way they kept the tank controls. Besides, I can't think of a single 3D game released by Crystal Dynamics that featured tank controls.

Also, while Core has nothing to do with this game, Angel of Darkness (PS2 version only) did not feature tank controls.

Looks like its running on a 1998 voodoo card

Short memory?

Looks good, hopefully the gameplay goes back to actually ya know, raiding tombs and shit, not shooting random people in cities.

Oh, and they need to step the puzzles up to, but if its being done by Crystal Dynamics I'm not so worried about that, since they make good puzzles for the LoK series. Tomb Raider games should be more like Ico, i.e. mostly puzzle/adventure game with some action sprinkled on to spice things up. It should have more than Ico, but it shouldn't dominate like Core has let it.

Why does she always stand in that same position? Is she venting heat?

I think she's been riding too many horses.

Those screens look bland. Plain textures and very little use of colour or lighting.

This looks fine to me - the locales actually have me a little excited for the game. Hope fully it moves smoothly and plays like POP:SOT.

graphics are fine... you're all just being a bunch of dicks on that front.

however Tomb Raider is a dead property so who fucking gives a shit?

Jesus...I'd forgotten how bad the locations in Tomb Raider 2 looked. If you'd labelled that as a glitchy emulation grab I'd have believed it.

You are crazy, that was pretty awesome for PSX standards. Remember that the PC game was little more than a console port with some graphical enhacements, and yet it looked astounding when it came out.

*shrug* it always came off as a seriously ugly game for me. Texturewise i mean. decent geometry but even by PS1 standards the textures were seriously bad.

Guess it didn't help that i played it after Tomb raider 3...well into the PS1's 3rd or 4th year i believe.

And here's your problem. You can't compare games with such a wide distance in time.

Really, TR was the hotness in 1996.

All those haters posting here... that's a good sign!
Maybe you're going to try it...
Maybe you're going to like it...

Crystal Dynamic CAN do something good out of this franchise. I'll give it an unbiased chance when it will come out.

For a present generation game, it looks pretty nice, don't get very well the bashing. Specially since I could see the Xbox 360 version being fantastic looking if I imagine a step futher fro this images.

I think there is a chance of recovering for Lara.

HAHAHA. I love how people are complaining about the model.

The quality of the Lara model is damn near close to an FFX model, at least the "low-rez" ones.

Pretty damn close.
