Tomb Raider Legend Trailer

Funny...your mtv.com link is dead.

Trailer isn't anything too crazy. Though that somersault that knocks over the enemy directly into shooting was pretty cool. There is just soemthing about tomb raider that will always have a place in my heart.
 
That's gotta be the PC or Xbox version(I'm thinking PC). No way in hell that's the PS2 version.(the 3d file named one) The trailer video seems to be channelling bits from the 1st and 2nd movie IMO.

Eh, why? It doesn't look anything that great that it couldn't easily be the PS2.
 
It seems to have that classic TB platforming with fiercer action and thus looks way more fun then the predecessors. Lara May CryÂ…
I think I will watch this evolve with an open mind.
 
I know some people are going to complain about cities being in the game..But holy hell it looks awesome.

I am actually impressed. I admit I never played a TR game before (back in the PS era I had the N64 for most of the gen), but this game caught my attention.

For a current gen game, it is gorgeous.
 
Looks great, I have high hopes. Seems like Tomb Raider might be able to make a strong comeback. I mean, they still have Lara Croft to show off in ads...and she actually looks good now. :lol

I just hope they don't throw in too much shooting, and that the game has its fair share of exploration at exotic locations. The city looked nice, but I'd rather have a bunch of ancient ruins. :P
 
OMG Lara's back,I can't wait for E3 impressions on the demo :) The control system seems much more like POP now and also weapons target system has been fixed.Also animations are pretty good.Too bad it seems the game will run at 30 fps.
Also it's clearly the PS2 version,PC and Xbox will have better textures and pixel shading effects.

maybe this pre-rendered stuff will end up as the Xbox360 version.

either way... all Tomb Raider games so far have been shovleware.
 
This game does show promise, but I'm disappointed that it looks like other people will be the main targets for fighting. The thing I really enjoyed about the original Tomb Raider was the nature aspect. Exploring caves, killing bears, dinosaurs, tigers, etc. Tomb Raider 2 kind of killed most of that with focusing on human targets. Looks like this one is doing the same. Still, it does look promising. If the controls are great than I may have to check it out.

i hope the franchise dies the death it should have, years ago.

I hope there are a lot of animals and creatures. I always found fighting them in the original was more fun than the human enemies. There was a crocodile in the trailer so there's hope that there will be more animals in the game.

How in the hell is this dissapointing? Were you expecting Lara to jump out of the screen and give you a blowjob? The graphics look fantastic and the game looks like it's going back to it's roots. There is nothing disappointing about that trailer. The only thing that will screw it up is if it plays like total crap (and I have far more faith in Crystal Dynamics in regards to that than I ever did in Core).
 
Hm, not convinced by this trailer.

If they insist on continuing to create "Bond with tits", at least show more promise than From Russia with Love.

I think it looks great....But since I knew CD was taking over I didnt really doubt that it wouldn't be. I agree with Craig with the humans part. There should be more animals and such...but so far so good.
 
From the trailer i can't really tell if they changed the controls and if the pace of the game is any different...
They need to AT LEAST redo the controls for me to even consider buying the game.
 
I could do without the cities levels to be honest.

But from looks of it, they'll be plenty of TOMBS, something the Core sequels seemed to forget about. Especially no.2 - Oil Rigs, Sunken Ships, Opera - WTF?!

+1 For Toby Gard involvement.

cd is a very competent developer and they're really delivering with this game. can't wait.
 
No one else had problems with the Zips from the Tomb Raider Chronicles site, right?

I downloaded the 3D test and the trailer last night, only watched the 3D test. Ran my file resume program to finish getting the trailer and left, and when I came back, my display had all sorts of visual artifacts (like low mem, even though not too much was running), things were acting dodgy (even the Dr Watson debugger was crashing), so I restarted, and now I suddenly can't get my fairly new PC past the bootup process, it resets at the point where the XP logo comes up with the blue loading board.

That was the only thing even remotely close to a virusable file (.zip) I downloaded and opened without virus scanning it that day. (And even then, AVG was active, and it usually catches if something downloaded is virused.) It probably isn't related, but I thought I'd ask in case anyone else noticed something dodgy with it. I'm referring to the 3D test video (zipped) on the Tomb Raider Chronicles site linked above, not the game trailer.
 
Why dont you people get it?

Crystal Dynamics as developer + Toby Gard back in the mix = Tomb Raider is good again.
