Sophie Turner showed a ripped body a few months ago

Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny) will serve as creator, writer, and executive producer on the series and has now been joined by Chad Hodge as executive producer and co-showrunner.
Jonathan van Tulleken will serve as director and executive producer., with Turner (Game of Thrones, Dark Phoenix) emerging as the frontrunner to play the lead role

"I'm so excited to announce the formidable Sophie Turner as our Lara alongside this phenomenal creative team," Waller-Bridge said.
"It's not very often you get to make a show of this scale with a character you grew up loving. Everyone on board is wildly passionate about Lara and are all as outrageous, brave, and hilarious as she is. Get your artifacts out… Croft is coming…"

As much as I'd like to fit in here... honestly? I see it. I think she could play the role well, and I think she's got the chops to do something bolder than her role in GoT would indicate.

Edit: Wait, Phoebe Waller Bridge? Okay, nevermind - I take it all back. Sorry, guys. You were right. Let's hate.

I have no faith this will turn out well.
Hey, I hope the new Tomb Raider game isn't wokified to please the new IP owner and mascot Phoebe Waller-Bridge. I read on another website that Phoebe Waller-Bridge "don't miss" and threw up in my mouth a little. I bet that they won't even objectify lara in the games becasue of this bullshit project right here. I bet there is some sort of ban on the IP from the male gaze for 20 years to get her on board doing this shit.

Who is the woke lara croft for? Like would women watch adult content for the stories if they just made the female actresses fat?

The drapes won't match the carpet, mate..

So, going back to previous casting choices. Most people didn't realise how good they had it with Anjolina Jolie as the classic Core era Lara Crtoft

Alica Vickander was a pretty good reboot trilogy Lara. I actually kinda liked the movie as far as game to movie adaptions go.

I honestly didn't really get into the Netflix animated series as much as I was hoping I would, but people seemed to like it regardless. I'll have to wait and see more with this new Amazon series before criticizing it.

Absolutely terrible cast.
Not just because of the "flat" argument, but Sophie Turner is just sooo bland, and she has a baby face, I really don't see her as Lara Croft, at all.
Even in X-Men she was terrible as Jean Grey, such a downgrade from Famke Janssen.

It will be the same kind of Downgrade here compared to Angelina Jolie. Although I know we're not even talking about the same "Lara Croft" anyway...

Could be good or bad. I get that people reflexively shit themselves at even the tiniest whiff of "woke" anywhere but I'm willing to at least see what they put out before declaring it shit. Sophie could make an excellent Lara if they adopt first trilogy as her inspiration along with making her a proper thief seeking treasure and adventure.

How can a woman has less female parts than a man is beyond me.
Even aside that, anything that has to do with this disgusting Phoebe I want a very good distance. Bloody disgusting.

Something about her I've just never been a fan. Also not a fan of Tomb Raider in general though so I guess it doesn't really matter who they cast. Out of the three games that came out I only really loved #2. The first was boring and the plot was horrible even though it did start off good. #3 had way to much downtime\puzzles and not enough action.

It's probably never going to get better than Angelina Jolie.

The TR I-VI Remasters were a nice trip down memory lane, but as someone who's been a lifelong Tomb Raider fan, I think I've had enough and I'm giving up at this point. It's been made painfully clear to me on a consistent basis that the wrong people have control over this IP, and it will likely never be good again.
