Too Human at E3? [gamefront]

Am I the only one who feels completely indifferent about this game? Can anyone give me one good reason why I should even care?

Nah, I agree with you. It wasn't that exciting back in the PSX days.

Same here.

And after Eternal Darkness and Twin Snakes turned out to be the duds that they were, I'm not sure why anyone would think there's even any chance of Too Human being "awesome" ? I'd say the odds are far, far, farrrr more likely that it's going to be crap. I dunno, I just feel annoyed by all the undeserving hype they get when there are far more talented developers out there who have to struggle to even get noticed. It makes no sense to me.

Well, they deserved a bit of hype after Blood Omen which is still the best game they've ever done and its over six years old now. Nothing they've done since then has been nearly as good as Blood Omen.

I think Konami pays for the development of the game, they'll publish it, I predict :D

(I've got ICQ, now I only need your number and we can talk at the weekend ;)
Please send me a PM :) )

The text based logo is of course not the real one. The old one looks like this. If they will use it or a completely new one remains to be seen.

anyone who actually designs something using that fake katakana font deserves a punch in the face.

in fact, it's so offensively lame that i typoed "font" as "funt" because whoever designs it is, well, a cont.

er.

I wish i had saved the 2 mega huge interviews the GIA had with denis dyack for this game, i had managed to find them back and posted them on the old GA but when we changed server it was gone, and now i cant find the interviews anymore on GIA's archives.

Maybe these 2 interviews would give answers to those who dont understand why there's hype about this game, it sure worked for me, and heck, too human when it was playable at E3 on playstation was psx.ign's most anticipated game.

I think interviews like that are the exact reason why Silicon Knights is so annoying. The way Dennis hypes his own games is about as bad as Itagaki. Except unlike Itagaki he neither delivers what he promises nor does he understand that it's all tongue-in-cheek. Itagaki knows his games are all largely graphical powerhouses with hot chicks and intense action, while maintaining a good balance of fun and enjoyable gameplay and challenge. Dennis fancies himself as some great artists and promises shitloads of stuff that never delivers in the end. :(

I am so freakin pumped for this it's unbelievable! Good to see my uber-speculation thread referenced too :D

And to summarise my feelings on everything else:

I LOVED Eternal Darkness and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
I think you're on crack if you don't.

Was it the first time you played MGS? It was mine too, and I thought it was amazing. But I'm sure if I had played the original then played the remake, it wasn't anything SUPER SPECIAL like it is to me :P

"I find it ironic that you call other people on trolling, yet refer to the GCN as 'babycube'."

Haha the reason I called it that is because that's the main view people have of it.

Twin Snakes was disappointing to due graphics and technical issues, stupid overblown cutscenes, no significant extras (VR Missions), some annoying changes, and no decent additions to the story mode. Some of the re-recorded voices were not big favorites either. It underwent as much scrutiny as any other Metal Gear title; I don't think the Cube has as much to do with it as the sloppy effort of Dyack and company.

Eternal Darkness was disappointing due to its ease, poorly fleshed out ideas, repetitive gameplay, and hokey attempts to force you to play through the same game 3 times. Oh, and the way the story/scenario was plagiarized.

All this compounds up to a lot Dyack hatred, since he talks such big talk about creativity and pushing things forward and all his great ideas -- but has produced very little this generation. One game with the premise illegitimately stolen, one legitimate remake.

Too Human looks cool only because of the theme/setting. Silicon Knights' involvement actually makes me wary. It will be interesting to see what happens when it finally surfaces...
