Like, I can appreciate the art style and the music (and Steve Blum), but IGPX really only works as a "wow, I'm glad I set the sleep timer on my TV" show, in my opinion.

IGPX is fun as a once in a blue moon kind of "Toonami made this" series, but on constant repeat it gets old fast.

Show ratings so far

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood > One Piece > Soul Eater > Samurai Jack > Space Dandy > Gits > Naruto > Naruto Shippuden > SAO > Bleach

Because IGPX is boring

Some thoughts on the Soul Eater episode:

I've stated before that I quite liked Medusa as a villain, and I'm glad they didn't do some bullshit 'true-face' reveal before her death where she showed fear or weakess or whatever. She kept her tongue right to the end. But I do feel that the execution of her demise was a little ... odd. Crona spent the whole show getting abused by Medusa. He speaks with Marie because it's 'his fault' Stein was lost and they decide to go off to get Medusa and find a sort of redemption. Then here he is basically just a prop to get Maka angry for a moment. I suppose Crona sacrificing itself to save Maka shows a sense of selflessness, but that doesn't really feel like a proper moment to conclude Crona's character development on. (assuming Crona's arc is mostly over). Especially because it wasn't even a significant move - apparently Crona is going to be alright anyway. And then Marie can bring back Stein just by basically touching him? It seems too easy. I mean, I don't think every moment in a battle such as thing has to be overly complex or dramatic, but a lot of that felt a little too convenient.

I don't want to overstate my criticisms, I thought the episode was pretty exciting and the presentation was great, I just felt it was too expedient.
