Man, a lot of these scenes are framed weird. An earlier shot with Krillin in the foreground looked more like everyone was on the same plane and Krillin was giant, and that scene just now with Piccolo's foot and people running on the ground below looked like Piccolo was giant and standing on the ground.

They aren't in the manga but Super had them appear again.
They were better when it was actual martial arts and not beam spam and "fighting so fast we barely have to animate"
Basically, the first half of the series.
They were cool at the time. I think the formula has been done so much better in shows like HxH and JoJo that DBZ feels basic as fuck in comparison.
Though I think Dragon Ball holds up better than DBZ these days.
It is going to be weird to hear him sing in Moana.
Eh, but it's more that the English dub of Z made him less stupid.

Hmm....I never thought about this but I think you're right. Most shonen anime blow their fights out of the water.
There's a big twist left and the final episode is an epilogue.

My friends, how I've missed you!
Hope I'm not too late for the festivities tonight.
My promise to myself was to hold off until Durarara!! made its way to the block, if it ever did. There were so many times I wanted to pop in again, the endings of InuYasha: The Final Arc and Bleach most notably, but I was so happy with my lack of dependence on NeoGAF.
I'm still not confident of my long-term prospects here, but there was one thing I knew for sure:
I can't miss the rest of Hunter x Hunter with you guys. This anime has affected me on a deep emotional level, perhaps even more so than Durarara!! It was all I could take to see the posts come in for the first 26 episodes.
I can't wait to see the live reactions to the rest of the show. It's truly something special.

At the very least at this point in DBZ they are played the fuck out
THIS. Not to mention, when you look at One Piece or Jojo, there's so much more variety in the different attacks aside from "i can punch & kick fast and shoot some sort of beam in some form".
This just makes you realize how far Shonen manga have come after all these years.
