I've only read the Hunter X Hunter manga and the series kind of... declined for me after the Hunter Exam. In part because of the pacing and the huge abundance of dialogue in a lot of parts, among other things. I remember really getting bothered by the pacing in the Chimera Ant arc as well.

I'm hoping that watching the anime is going to change my viewpoint on the series. So far it's been good revisiting this material in anime form but we're getting to the stuff where I started to drift a bit in interest so this should be interesting. I'm hoping the Chimera Ant arc's pacing is improved for me too.

all I know about Eureka 7 is that it apparently had a good(?) romance, the mechs were named something stupid, and one of the OPs was in Ouendan 2 and was a really good song

Haven't read the manga but the music and animation really add a lot to the anime in the Yorknew Arc at least, and every episode ends on such a hype cliffhanger (complete with one of the most amazing endings of all time.)

What I remember of Greed Island is that it was very breezy and fun. The talkyness and pacing only become problems in the last half of Chimera Ant IMO.

And the Election Arc is just 13 episodes of fun.
