Summer Wars was made by the guy who did the Digimon movie. It is similar in many ways, but it's still good.

It was done by the same guy who did that segment of the Digimon movie. Basically, same idea, but with his own characters & some differences.

Ended up not having to work tonight, got a bag of weed, and now I'm watching Akira for the first time. Awesome night lol.

The animation in this movie is stunning so far. Saw a thread about this movie on GAF a couple weeks back that made me want to watch it so I'm glad it happens to be on Toonami on my rare free saturday night.

Immediately noticing odd lip synching.

The voice acting was off bad.

Original animation is closely timed to the Japanese language track (in most anime, lip flaps are timed generically). As such, the mouth movements would look dead on if they were talking Japanese but look off in English.
