*remembers that Jojo Part 3 premiered in 2014 & this is the dub premiere* Okay, maybe my "age" argument isn't as valid, despite Part 3 being 48 episodes & figuring out what names were okay to say and what had to be changed.

But yeah, this could easily be something Funimation would want to put on the block to promote the dub + home release, plus it could work as a good "filler" show.

Kabeneri of the Iron Fortress isn't a good show, but it has a decent start, and some so bad it's good moments later on.

Also I can't remember if I played Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga on the GBA.

I can't people.

Ah, now that's a game I need to replay sometime. Never did get around to finishing it.

...Never did finish most games I've played. A habit I'm only now successfully starting to break.

Funimation added S1 of Iron Blooded Orphans dub to their service. At least, some of their episodes. They're releasing the rest when the Blu-Rays come out in November.

I'm guessing that Funimation plan to upload Season 2 episode to coincide with the Toonami broadcast just like they're doing with Lupin.

Tokyo Ghoul was boring as sin, but it is not Tenchi Muyo GXP bad. That feels more like a hot take then anything.

Hi I got some complaints from thread regulars that this thread gets a bit annoying on the gif spam sometimes. So just keep that in mind. And please speak up if something is annoying you.

I guess I should also mention that cntr asked for a permanent ban to take a break from GAF. Not sure how/if this thread contributed to that, but figured people might wonder what happened to him. Shame, I liked his insight and positivity.

Yeah after I noticed cntr was banned I looked at the last few posts with a magnifying glass and determined the ban was either for something so heinous the post(s) got deleted or they asked for it.

I usually try to gif within reason and for a reason. Now the waifu spam...Misa's a classic. I liked CNTR, he was one of the good ones. I kind of wished he'd say something before he left. Now who the hell's going to answer my elaborate Stando questions in the Jojo thread?

Seems we've had a couple people leave GAF from the anime/manga communities lately. Sucks but if a break is needed, its needed.

I think the thread has been pretty good the last few pages sinc this last weekend, but I agree that the thread can have a tendency to gif spam at times so I dont think the complaint is too outlandish.

Here's a random question I was curious about.

HxH fans:

Is English Hisoka pretty faithful to his JP voice? Like, I think it seems a really good and fitting performance but I was just curious if he came across noticeably differently because of the language change.

Bummer to hear about cntr, but I guess there were things in life that he needed to focus on and didn't want the distraction of GAF. He definitely always had some great stuff to contribute to the thread.

Also, I won't point/single anyone out, but yeah, the gifs have gotten a bit out of hand at times, mainly:

- when someone replies to a quote & the gif in question has absolutely nothing to do with said quote, not even as a "reaction" gif. This doesn't happen often, but it's done often enough it should be brought up
- spamming the same gifs over & over within a short period of time (i.e. over the course of a few days or multiple times in a single night but then not posting it again for a period of time). Again, I'm not gonna go into specifics, but I feel like certain gifs CONSTANTLY get repeated without any variation as to why it's getting posted.

I'd say Keith Silverstein does a pretty great job capturing Hisoka's personality.

Nah that's what he sounds like. Everyone in the main cast besides maybe Leorio sounds pretty close to their Japanese counterparts.

Keith Silverstein is more than fine, he's way better than the French one and he's better than the last Hisoka. His orgasm during his fight with Gon proved that he's committed to the performance.

Fun reminder that there are HxH plays in Japan where many of the voice actors from the anime play their characters including Hisoka. There are even musicals

I don't know if the show works for me as a comedy or as an insight into depression.

I don't dislike it per se, it's just kinda there.

The first half of the first season is not good. After that its like they decided to say fuck it and get real with things. Yeah its about animal people in crazy situations but there are few shows that really go "there" in terms of touching on and depicting depression, failing mental faculties, death, rocky and troubled relationships and so on. Its a pretty scathing look at life in general.

Always brought a lot of good discussion to ToonamiGAF and other communities.

Thing is, I've only rarely found Bojack Horseman laugh out loud funny, but I still think it is a really engaging watch, the latest season especially.
