LA Confidential is my best movie of the 90's, what a masterpiece, but this list is certainly better than that heap of shit I read yesterday.

I don't care much about the order but that's a damn good list. You know, actually, the top 10 is pretty good. But Twister deserves a better spot. I loved it back then. Yes just because I loved it I want it higher in the list.

1990s are my fave decade for movies. Even the trashy stuff and the mainstream crowd pleasers were made with a level of quality, care and expertise that stuff in a similar vein today doesn't incorporate. They feel like movies rather than cheap, sterile glorified tv ads. Film, capable cinematographers, intention and being able to commit up front made even the most unlikely stuff feel wonderfully filmic. The mid-budget movies of the 90s (and early 00s) were just magical.

Not an "I think these are the best movies" list, but just my "personal faves/meaningful to me" list. Parsed out from my letterboxd "Absolute Favourites" by filtering for the 1990s (then asking Grok to pull a plain text list from the link's html), not fully-ordered yet:

I'm sure there's also plenty I'd add that I haven't seen, plenty I haven't thought of to add and there's quite a lot I see in lists above that I've seen but I really need to rewatch...

Not a bad list OP, but putting men in black right above pulp fiction is a bit jarring :messenger_confounded:

The green mile
Jackie Brown
Primal fear
