Diablos said:Not ALL of their songs... I wouldn't put anything from Machina 1 on there.
But between Gish, Siamese, MCIS, Adore, Machina 2, Pisces, TAFH and various other demos and b-sides, it's WAY TOO HARD to make a top 5 list.
When it comes to my favorite bands, like SP, Radiohead and The White Stripes, I don't like trying to rank their songs. I tried doing it for the Stripes and soon realized I could change those 5 songs at any time really. The reason WHY they are my favorite bands, after all, is because their discography is so perfect to me.
Diablos said:No nononono, Machina 2 is not a bootleg!
The Pumpkins were going to originally have Virgin Records release it and make people pay for it like anything else, but they pissed them off for the last time. So they basically said "fuck it, we're giving it out to the fans for free." They went to some local record shop, and had a guy make 25 copies of Machina 2 on vinyl, then the Pumpkins gave those 25 copies to some fans. The fans were told to distribute it over the Internet. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe Machina 2 is on iTunes. So it remains a free album as a "thank you" to the fans. Even Pitchfork gave it a decent review. It also won a best Internet album of the year award, but was never televised because of 9/11, which is totally understandable.
Of COURSE I do. But I shall not reveal my identity. Not yet!U.2.K. Tha Greate$t said:ooooooh ok. Thanks. Btw do you post on the SP forum? I DO.

I was married to Kurt and he had a melodic sense. He also played left-handed and I never really could copy anything that he did. But I could copy things that Billy did, and Billy had done Siamese Dream, which is a lot of songs about me, and I couldn't listen to Siamese Dream at home because my husband would get weird and freaky and jealous about Billy.
Diablos said:Haha that was you? :lol :lol :lol What were you revolting against anyway, I can't remember.
I like MCIS, but the following songs should have been replaced by b-sides from TAFH.mattiewheels said:listening to siamese dream right now
soma and mayonaise make me misty. and i'd say cherub rock is pretty much perfect.
other than that stupid forced angst shit, melon collie is one of my all time fave albums. amazing stuff.

What was your website?
distantmantra said:Distant Avalon, it was a crappily made little fansite where I compiled all the information on the new album that would become Adore, something like 200+ articles. When Netphoria was in it's early embryonic stage, someone from that blasted site contacted me asking if they could take all the information from my site and not credit me. I told them no and that was that, only to find that they then took EVERYTHING. Granted, they're articles, anyone can take them, but then they went and copied my format, even the little blurbs I came up with on my own.
They copied your articles, your format, and misc. stuff from your site? What a bunch of assholes. You should register for the forums and make a little post about that. I don't want to post at Netphoria anymore. I didn't know Andrew Pakula was such a sleezeball.distantmantra said:Distant Avalon, it was a crappily made little fansite where I compiled all the information on the new album that would become Adore, something like 200+ articles. SUE!
Diablos said:Oh, in that case, it's not. Still pretty lame that he did that, but after all these years it's not worth getting pissed off about.
