Trailer for Netflix doc "Amanda Knox"

And they were not even crazy. Young people party, have sex, and fall in love. So what?

I am talking more about some of their way of behaviour after such an event. More Amandas I guess. I am not saying it implicates them on murder. Yeah I know some people handle things differently than the usual. I suppose I should have used the word odd than crazy. What happened to them is definitely a lot crazier.

I felt like the documentary did things rather hastily. It was pretty to look at but the way things were explained and how it developed wasnt the best.

One thing I don't understand is why Rudy went from a small time burglar to a rapist and murderer, it's a bit of a leap.

Every murderer went from not a murder to murderer. That same leap applies to every single other suspect, only they're not an established criminal with a ton of evidence against them.

I watched it as my fiance loves watching things about this case. I even watched the TV movie played by Hayden Pennandteller, so there wasn't much in this documentary that was new information. I also agree that they should've had added a few more minutes about what made it fairly obvious that Rudy was the killer.

The most interesting thing, as others have pointed out, was footage of the bungled forensic investigation. Three scenes really jumped out at me, and I'm surprised I hadn't seen before:
1. Multiple forensic scientists "passing around" the bra clasp (a key piece of evidence for the prosecutor), even while wearing gloves, it's no wonder that the re-test found 3 different DNAs on it
2. Lady cop kicking down the door of a crime scene cause she couldn't wait for the locksmith, that was just ridiculous
3. Actual video footage of forensic scientists at the scene complaining about the chaos

Just ridiculous stuff. It's sad how confident after all this, the prosecutor guy still thinks she's guilty.

Knox is pretty unlikable but after watching the documentary it's pretty obvious the lead investigator was on a witch hunt because he thought Knox was immoral, or whatever bullshit. It's clearly stated several times in the documentary that there was no evidence linking anyone but Rudy to the crime.

For those of you that watched the documentary and still think Knox is guilty: Please, do us all a favor and stay away from law enforcement and/or criminal justice. Thanks.

the way he paused after he said that was hilarious, so indignant. actually, as tragic as it can be there are a lot of legitimately funny parts in this documentary due to some of the involved.

I did, it was pretty unexpected for me.
I loved them showing the Pisa guy saying "no the media isn't to blame we did nothing wrong" with all the false headlines blasting behind him

I find her very likable. She never seems phony and knows who exactly she is. I found her refreshingly real.

What makes you say this?

She was painted with this brush of being a pompous American that came into THEIR country and did whatever she wanted. And the public shouldn't let her get away with it. It was pretty obvious how the Italian public felt about her and it was gross to see.

Finished watching this, seems to be a simple case when all the BS is explained.

What was the deal with the shit? You murder someone but stick around to take a dump? And then not flush it?

My theory is Amanda didn't kill her, but the lies she told and their actions to me scream they knew more than what they were saying. I think that Amanda knew Rudy Guede better than she let on. I think he was selling Amanda and Raphael pot. This is why he was seen "around her house, workplaces etc" I think the evidence that it was a brake and enter was fake. and Guede was invited over, Amanda and Rapheal left him with Meredith and he killed her, afraid they'd be seen as co conspirators or get in trouble for drugs they altered the story

have a bit more but working on a review of the documentary for my blog

Someone asked why she isn't likeable, the fact that she blamed an innocent brown guy for the crime... well that's not likeable. Having studied criminal justice I think a lot of crime scenes are botched, its a shame they didn't get that correct. I'd rather think that she is completely innocent, but the documentary didn't really change my mind that they knew something. I found it interesting in the doc that she's really believable until she starts talking about the crime and then I just wasn't buying it. Cause I feel there's stuff left out.

I don't really understand why people continue to place all of the responsibility for the false accusation on her. They all but tortured it out of her and to make them stop she told them something she thought they wanted to hear.

Yeah left very unsatisfied. At least they could get more into details about what made Rudy guilty. I get that his DNA was there but they didn't speak much about that type of DNA other than the poop. I feel like they stumbled too much while trying to first show things from the prosecution side without getting anywhere but just turning things upside down.

The Steven Avery case and documentary was a lot more interesting and indepth into the proceedings. I learned more about this case and the prosecution by reading this thread.

Nothing seemed clear in the documentary to me other than they botched the investigation, coerced them into testifying something, and that Amanda and her boyfriend were a bit crazy. Then viola, innocence is proved! (I felt like this part was rushed).

Agree. Wish they would've focused on Rudy's trial a little more and talked about why he was guilty. Rudy seemed to only be used to implicate Amanda in the murder. There were a few weird things that weren't explained. Rudy seemed to know Amanda was, but Amanda said several times that she barely knew the guy and said she didn't even know his name. That seemed odd but it was never followed up on. If he didn't know them, then why would he take a shit before leaving? That seems like a weird thing to do(also incredibly incriminating as well) but again it was never talked about in the doc.

I wouldn't say Amanda is crazy. She does have some weird personality quirks for sure (this is something Amanda herself admits to) but I think there was too much of a focus on her personality quirks but that might have been because the prosecutor was so hung up her personality but somehow didn't understand that weird personality ≠ murderer.

I think that's because her resolve is put into question, she breaks down over questioning, but she's talking about having hot sex and doing cartwheels, buying lingerie the day after her friend is brutally murdered. And I do question kissing affectionately right out side of a brutal murder scene. So you're like steel in the face of murder, but break down over questioning. You're so distraught, but not enough to pin it on a person who is more likely to be criminalized, just like Susan Smith.

"Questioning" is a disingenuous characterization.

Good doc. Read the Wikipedia article if you need some blanks filled in. She had nothing to do with the crime. There can be no doubt about it at this point.

I remember assuming that she was involved because of the scandalized coverage when it first went to trial. I'm embarrassed now that I fell for it.

Rudy admitted it was his.

Ok, I don't remember that in the doc.

Might have missed it though

The doc was on Amanda. And how the media and inept prosecution ruined her life rather than being a doc on the murder itself

Kharvey not a intentional mischarterization, I guess it comes down to what you believe. I've already stated I don't find her totally believable.

I do find it kinda weird that you don't notice or smell feces in the toilet while being in the bathroom, or that you see blood and don't go see who is bleeding until after you shower.

You don't believe she was placed under intense duress during "questioning"?

This seems to be working backwards from the notion that you just believe she did so lets come up with reasons based on a really bad understanding of how people react under stress

There is literally nothing tying her to the scene of the crime. So everything with "she didn't act properly" just seems like people wanting to believe it

This is not talked about a lot but burglars regularly defecate at the places they break into. It's common knowledge in criminology circles and a source of forensic evidence.

I've heard several explanations from psychologists but mostly it seems to be a reaction to stress.

l already stated I don't believe she killed Meredith Kercher and that Rudy guede in fact did it. but there are missing pieces I suspect, I believe Amanda and Rapheal knew Guede. He's a drug dealer ad they admit to smoking drugs. I believe Amanda may have implicated the other guy over some type of guilt about her and Rapheals actions in regards to the crime scene. We know that the crime scene evidence had an opportunity to be contaminated, but that doesn't mean it was. At the end of the day I hope she can move on with her life. Hey maybe its just me, but I'd come back and haunt any of my friends doing cartwheels the day after I was brutally murdered.

So again this all just comes down to "this person didn't act the way I personally expect someone to act in that situation, therefore: suspicious." Doesn't that strike you as completely invalid reasoning?

This is completely unsubstantiated and literally you just inventing things based on nothing

Have you ever considered being an italian prosecutor?

it's pretty obvious the lead investigator was on a witch hunt because he thought Knox was immoral, or whatever bullshit.

That detective sure was a smug douche, even for this kind of doc in which the investigators inevitably seem to come off as smug douches. So much ironclad certainty in his conclusions, which largely seemed to be based on his "intuition" and whether or not Amanda was acting like a grieving roommate was "supposed to" act.

It makes me sick to think about all the other people that this guy and others like him have sent to jail because they didn't act sad enough or whatever someone expected.

The crime scene only had one single opportunity to be contaminated? You sure of that, are you?

Interrogations has ruined so many innocent lives. A guy was thrown in prison for touching kids because under interrogation they lied and said there was video evidence of him touching kids inappropriately. They went around in circles for hours and got him to admit to it by way of him saying if you have video evidence then I must have done it. Also check out the shady interrogation scene in Making a Murderer.

It's pretty much the same type of bullshit that happened with Knox.

This is why miranda rights are so vital and why people need proper legal defense

I never said the crime scene only had one opportunity to be ruined. Especially when some evidence was gathered much later. I'm saying just because evidence has a chance to be contaminated doesn't mean it was. Not sure why some of you are getting butt hurt over the fact, I said I don't think she did the murder, but some information may be missing, she even questions her own memory on the matter in the documentary. and they both changed their storys, its up for question if police tactics alone led to this. maybe it did. I read Guedes fingerprints were never found n the door to the bedroom, which to me is interesting if true and Amanda knew things about the crime she shouldn't have.

I think its unfair to compare me to the Italian prosecutor. But whatever. Should know not to argue with a bunch of guys that have probably made out with knox in their fantasies.

In regards to the doc I thought it was filmed fantastic, no big revelations. Could not stand the trashy reporter Nick. I know its about Knox, but I would have loved to hear more about Meredith and who she was before all this.

The argument that those who disagree with you only do so because they Are attracted to Amanda Knox does not reflect positively on your ability to reason.

Or what I meant to say was you think she's hiding things because you believe girls have cooties.

As a Brit it's interesting watching the American reaction to this, because a lot of what we were shown in the media, including the bizarre way Knox behaved, was portrayed by our press to be incriminating. Whereas in 'Murica the story was spun as evil Italians trying to imprison a wholesome American sweetheart.

Knox was acquitted. The Italian prosecution fudged the case. None of us know for sure if she was involved. Watch Making A Murderer and you'll be convinced Avery is innocent - and then you read some of the information they left out and it's clear the documentary had an agenda. This Netflix documentary also has an agenda, and you can spin the story into American Girl victimised by the Italian legal system, but the real victim in all of this is Kercher, and I find it kind of gross how Knox parades herself in the media like this. She isn't going to be extradited and she has her freedom.

I think a little parading is in order for losing 4 years of your life for something you didn't do.

What does not finding fingerprints in the bathroom say about anything? You're taking details that don't exist and making a story out of them. It's weird.

If there is more evidence that wasn't presented in this documentary and it's pulling a Making of a Murderer, i'd love to see it. I searched myself after watching because I don't want to fall into that trap again. I think the most telling thing here is that Avery is still in jail, while Knox and Sollecito have been found innocent twice after the original case.

Kercher was obviously a victim, but if Knox and her Sollecito are truly innocent, they are victims too.

I find it kind of gross how Knox parades herself in the media like this.
She's trying to clear her name after several years of lies and slut-shaming by the Italian justice system and the British media. You still have people talking about her doing cartwheels in the police station and talking about having "hot sex" in a lingerie store when it never happened.

Notice how no one is jumping on Sollecito even though he's in the doc too.

How Sollecito got any jail time at all is beyond me.

The American press didn't portray her positively until the appeal proceedings. Up until last night when we watched the doc my wife still thought she was guilty and a faker. The Italian authorities had a clear anti-American bias. It's evident in the documentary as well as in the court proceedings. Kercher is the ultimate victim but that doesn't mean Knox wasn't a victim. 4 fucking years in prison for a crime you didn't commit is horrible.

This wasn't the case until the appeal when it came out how badly the fucked up

It's pretty clear you didn't watch the doc by saying this and just wanted to come in and give your two cents irrespective of anything.

Okay, what was left out about the Knox trail. I searched everywhere and found zero. So it's not the same. Like at all.

I don't wear glasses, but we've just been making stuff up up so sure, i'll put on my reading glasses.

But I get what you mean, I found it weird that they didn't find the goat from the satan sacrifice personally.

There's so much wrong with this post, I don't know where to begin. Suffice it say, you're obviously not a detail oriented person and good investigators need to be. That and also not clouded by emotional outbursts.
Whom ever compared you to the Italian detective was spot on.

This is a TERRIBLE post. What a crap viewpoint, that because somebody disagrees with you, you assume it's because of her looks. I personally don't find Amanda Knox attractive tbh, I think the only reason it's hyped is because she's an average looking girl wrapped up in a not-so-average situation, much like how celebrities instantly increases the attractiveness to many people.
