Who else out there is watching this? I did a search on this and I only got like two results on this forum, I'm beginning to feel alone here, where's the TPB love? I just caught my first ep of this show today after watching a Monty Python rerun on BBC America, I may as well call it a gift from old Monty himself because I'm loving this show to death! I saw scenes of it and I always figured it was just some drama series about poor british people I thought would bore me to death, but wow! I couldn't find my remote when this started to come on, I was annoyed at first, now I realize it's a godsend. :)

I'm still wondering though, what the basic background for this show? Is it american made, or is it british with all american actors or brits playing americans? Oh yeah, and has this always been on BBCA or did this come from the UK recently?

It's actually a Canadian show, which is why not many Americans know about it. Another good show that the USA doesn't know about is The Office, although this is a British show.

Lol, yeah I just realized it when I saw the official sites .ca domain and I also noticed the guy who played Emma's dad from Degrassi on it.

I've seen threads about the office, what's that show about?

I've been watching it for a little over a month now. Bought the first 3 season dvd's a week ago too.

It's made in Canada, and it takes place in (and is shot in) Nova Scotia, which is a fisherman province (province = state, yanks) on the East Coast.

I just saw the Conky episode again tonight, I think that's my favorite episode ever.

It's a mockumentary at an office that sells paper supplies. Run by the worst boss in the world. Guaranteed to make you turn you head in utter utter shame at least twice an episode. you should definately go hunt for some episodes. there is 12 in total (2 seasons) and 2 christmas specials. which you cant afford to miss.

Ricky Gervais is so funny. he is also a good stand up. look for his "Animals" standup.

Halfway through the first episode of The Office you will probably hate it, but if you stick it out by the 2nd episode you will love it.

Oh so is it off the air now? I see it's cancelled or something from imdb, but is there any reruns airing on tv or must I enter the digital every man's land known as that popular astronomy site? ;)

I've actually been seeing some references to TPB down here in Northern California surprisingly enough. And ya, TPB is one of the funniest friggn shows in the world. I have a feeling it'll explode in popularity in the US soon enough.

Like a lot of British awesome comedies, Fawlty towers, the young ones to name a couple, it only ran for 2 seasons of 6 episodes each. I dunno for you I'm in NZ and its re-running again. I think tv episodes are fine to blatantly download aren't they? Go do it, you will not regret.

Thanks for the tip, just finished watching Season 1. Almost could do it on one sitting. It's absolutely hilarious.

I can't get the next seasons soon enough, you know what I'm saying?

Not exactly. The Office is probably the most recognized BBC show in the US since Ab Fab.

I've been watching trailer Park Boys for a year and a bit now. I bought the Seasons 1, 2, and 3 DVDs when they were first released. (1 and 2 came together).

I first got hooked when I watched the episode with Alex Lifeson guest starring(I just watched the episode because he was in it mainly). After that, I was hooked!! Such a great show, but in Season 3, Bubbles' character kinda went to shit. I think it's because Mike Smith(guy who plays Bubbles) took a more active role in the creative process.

He's golden in Season 4. The Green Bastard and Conky episodes alone seal it.

Conky was fucking lame, The Green Bastard was alright.
What the fuck are you talking about, Conky was easily one of the best episodes.

"He's the man they call...."

"Don't fucking say it, Conky."

Haha, one guy I worked with in one of my previous work terms was good friends with the drinking guy and the guy with a goatee (don't remember the names, I haven't watched the show much). He was in business school with them. :D

I live in Halifax, so of course I watch TPB. Awesome show and everyone should watch it.

It's comedy gold!

^w^

Ps. Bubbles rules.

A coworkers passed along a few episodes late last week. Ever since I've been on the hunt for episodes and got the first two seasons online. God I love this show. I was actually going to start an appreciation thread, but discovered this one, hence the bump.

Even though I already have most episodes, I still want to get the DVDs (hey I support the stuff I like). Out of curiosity though, what extras does the DVDs contain?

And I too think this show might be the next big thing. I didn't know it was on BBC America, but it's very appropriate since it's like a Britcom: has great character development and a long continuous story. That and it's actually funny.
