I got an iPod for Christmas and I have been uploading some of my music collection of my family's computer over the past couple of weeks. The thing is that my computer and completed music collection is sitting in my dorm room. It wouldn't be a big deal except that I have spent many hours changing the ID tags so they are organized.

What is the best way to pick up where I leave off and continue updating my music on my iPod using my dorm room computer without having to redo all the work I have done at home?

EphPod will allow you to transfer the files back from your iPod - if you've got iTunes set to organize your library, it'll be a cinch to replace the files you've updated.

Are both computers macs? I just discovered (courtesy my new iPod) that all the files are available (but hidden in finder) when your iPod is mounted. It's in /Volumes/<iPod's name>/iPod_Control/Music. Colpletely randomly organized from there, but it looks lke the tags are still good.
