Tribes: Ascend Patch Notes – Version 1.0.905.0
Major Highlights
  • With this patch, Tribes Ascend has dropped the “Open Beta” moniker. The game will continue to evolve and improve with regular updates after this patch, but we now have moved to Version 1.0! Progress made by players during the beta period is preserved.
  • Players who reach at least Level 10 in Beta will earn the “Veteran” Badge with an XP reward upon their first login following the official game launch time (Thursday, April 12, at 2:00 PM US Eastern).
  • A new CTF map, Raindance, has been added to the Quick Play rotation.
  • A new gametype, Capture and Hold, has been added with three initial maps (Katabatic, Raindance and Outskirts).

Significant additional functionality has been added under a “SOCIAL” menu. Among the changes:
  • People that have friended you now appear on your Social menu as “Followers”. Followers may be friended reciprocally, or blocked.
  • You may now send a message to online Friends and Followers. When typing in the chat console, use the format &#8220;@playername <message>&#8221; to send a message to a specific player. Block a player to avoid receiving messages from them. You can universally block the hud notifications for new messages using the NOTIFICATIONS section under SETTINGS.

I know I'll get a lot of disagrees, but after playing the Beta for about 3 months, I can't help but feel disgust. Sure, some things certainly improved over the old Tribes games, but other design choices by HiRez has left me with a game that destroys some of the fundamental gameplay aspects of the Tribes franchise. Near completely customizable loadouts, being able to fulfill any role that your team might need.

I won't even get into the whole removal of the command circuit or how small the maps are now. =/

A bit interesting that they only pushed the PAX patch to live as the "release." With some of the new weapons in the game files I was hoping to see another bundle or something similar. Time to update and scowl the files again!
 
Wish they would disable Heavies/Techs in Arena by default...
Also, wish either the knockback on disks was reduced or you had better air recovery.
The Arena maps that were ported both have some issues, Aero could use cover in the same place it was in T2 and WalledIn just gets camped by a heavy on their last spawn which is annoying.
(Can't read full patchnotes at work, but I'm assuming nothing has been changed regarding these issues)


I'm going to keep playing though, private servers should fix some things that should be standard imo

I personally gave up on the game. I was a fool to give them my money, when they had such a poor development process.
 
Wow everything got darker with the latest patch, change it back please.

Oh, it's a bug with Bloom always being enabled and ignoring the .ini
 
Wish they would let you queue for multiple regions and glad to see they added a timer to the start of each game.
 
Excellent patch notes, put down the COD kids and start playing this. So glad glad I sold my HoN and LoL accounts and upgraded to this.

I've currently been playing as the Raider..

I've considered the infiltrator ... but has anyone played that class... offensively ?
