Trip to SF/Napa Valley, worth doing yet?

The wife wants to do her long anticipated Napa Valley wine tour in a few months for our anniversary. I'd like to tack on a few days in SF. How's covid impacting these areas? Is it worth doing tours yet? Any place even open in SF?

We live in a pretty open state and have both had covid already, so i've kinda forgotten most of the covid stuff other than wearing a mask. I think we should wait another year or so since it seems like the experience would be quite diminiahed in Cali, but hoping some folks living in that area could chime in.

Not open enough yet. Part of the experience is just relaxing and taking everything in. Can't do that quite yet.

If you wanted to go just for wine tasting and skip SF, now is the perfect time before the flood of tourists that's sure to come after most are vaccinated.

I'm an hour away from there and was just in Napa area a few weeks with the wife and we both had a great time. SF was suprisingly barren even with indoor dinining opened up again a lot of the places I wanted to check out were either closed or had very limited hours. For Napa, it wasn't as busy as it was before covid hit but the place we wanted to go to were open. If you need some Napa recs, these were some of our favorite places;

St Francis Winery & Winery: Really recommend the food/wine pairing
The Prisoner Wine company
B-Cellers
Morimotos: Great food if you're in the downtown area

Wine hopping in Sonoma and Napa Valley... You become this asshole connoisseur of drinking from different vineyards. It’s great!! Totally recommend!

I would wait at least a month. Indoor dining at reduced capacity just started again last week and some companies are still holding off at the moment. I recommend aiming for May

By the late spring/early summer all the hospitality spots will have to have all their shit in order, they can't miss this season twice.

On one hand, this is the greenest time of year for the bay area. On the other, COVID still has everything fairly shut down or at least reduced at the moment. I'd probably wait, personally.

There is good stuff out in Napa but its overrated and get ready to be fleeced ($30 to taste 3 wines? wtf?)

If you are actually going out there for wine, Central Coast (Los Olivos area), Amador, Calveras county are much better and don't have the pretensions of Napa.
