Triple H owned?

As we’ve reported, Pat Patterson hit the road with WWE a few weeks ago to get a better idea of the product and report it back to Vince McMahon so that they can figure out what changes need to be made to improve the product. Patterson is one of McMahon’s most trusted advisors. Word has it that Pat has reported that the problem with RAW right now is Triple H and he dominates the entire brand. It’ll be interesting to see how Vince will take this advice since Triple H is such a powerful person in WWE right now.

Many people within WWE also want to shake up the creative team. The feeling is that the head RAW writer, Brian Gewirtz, writes RAW as more of a sit-com than a wrestling show.

update!

Yesterday we reported that Pat Patterson has advised Vince McMahon to pull back on Triple H’s push on RAW. Today, we’ve received word that there is now a feeling within the company that this situation could escalate, possibly to the point where Patterson would leave the promotion.

Patterson’s general feeling is that Triple H is simply “over pushed” and no one else on the RAW brand has been made into a top guy with the exception of Chris Benoit, who is beginning to be pushed back already.

There is also Randy Orton, who had about a one month reign as a world title contender and even became champion, but is seemingly being pushed back right now. Some felt that Triple H had to cut Orton’s feet from under him because he felt there was too much of a buzz about him.

You can make the case that this was a coincidence, but the fact is this: while Triple H has been the top guy on RAW, numbers have fallen dramatically. Even when Triple H wasn’t gunning for the championship, he was still the focal point of RAW. So it seems as he shares at least some of the blame for the slump RAW is in right now and Patterson has made that clear to Vince McMahon.

Where will things go from here? Only time will tell.

The over-exposure of Triple H has been a problem for about two years; it's good to know that the company's top officials are so on top of things. To be fair though, Triple H is only a small part of the problem. As it stands, the writing behind the product is pretty awful. It hasn't evolved at all since 1999; everything is so repetitive.

Wha is Pat gonna be forced out for pointing out the truth all viewers have known for years now?

HHH is family. Why else do you think he's had a constant push for the last three years with no end in sight?

The feeling is that the head RAW writer, Brian Gewirtz, writes RAW as more of a sit-com than a wrestling show.

And that's exactly the way Vince likes it. He's a frustrated tv sitcom producer wannabe, that much is obvious judging from all the romance, wedding, pregnancy, death and female/male betrayal angles he greenlights.

:lol That never gets old...

BTW, when the hell is Smackdown vs Raw coming out? It's pretty much my most wanted game next to Spikeout.

First tragedy, then farce.
I dont mind Trips having a major role on Raw. But even when he is pushed to the midcard he seems to eat up more time than anyone else. He has done a better in ring job lately and has been putting people over with some regularity... but all the same, he takes up way too much time.

This is one thing smackdown does better (for all of its faults). There is NEVER one storyline that eats up most of the time. Last week Orton and/or trips had no less than 3 different times that they popped up during the show. They dont have one confrontation that leads to a match like everyone else. They will have two or three confrontations that leads to a match that will no doubt degenerate into a sportz entertainment finish. Seriously, Evolution/Orton feud takes up at least half of any given broadcase it seems.

Pat Patterson officially resigned from the company and his final night will be Taboo Tuesday. He officially gave notice of his resignation on October 5th.

As noted before Pat Patterson has given his notice to World Wrestling Entertainment and is scheduled to finish up with the company at next week’s pay-per-view, Taboo Tuesday on 10/19.

This comes on the heels of Patterson’s report to WWE CEO Vince McMahon explaining the reason for WWE’s recent plunge in ratings and attendance numbers. One of the main factors was due to the over push of Triple H. This led to a strong disagreement between Vince and Pat and eventually led to Patterson’s resignation.

A Shining Example
I haven't watched wrestling in years but I just wanted to say that the RAW episode where HHH married Stephanie was one of the best ever.

HHH used to be entertaining but after Backlash 2000 or so his bit got old. He had a good run in '99-'00 though. I remember watching WM2000 with a bunch of friends and I was the only one rooting for HHH because I can't stand the Rock. I was freaking elated when HHH went over. My friends were stunned.

thts his prob his gimmick is grumbly pissed off guy.

Austin/Angle/HBK are alot more versatile sometimes tough, sometimes hillarious, and can change and go with the times

(honestly early dx hbk rocked, and the angle/austin skits were awesome), triple aside from a brief glimmer of hope with the steph/angle ...angle has been the same RWARGROWLRAWRRAWR guy for 4 years, all the time every show forced down our throats and its getting stale.
