I get the distinct impression most of this was easily identified and stashed away months and months ago, and that the DNC was quietly having an uncontrollable giggle-fit when Trump secured the nomination.

It's mind-boggling that Trump seems to have thought none of this would come back to haunt him. I never really understood why someone like him was running for president in the first place, that he would subject himself to extreme vetting (haha) knowing what's in his past to uncover.

Which probably speaks volumes about how inconsequential he thinks these assaults are.

This is all coming out on Trump now, so victims realize they are not alone.
Trump going out of his way to say he never did any of it.
People coming forward make others more comfortable coming forward. It's like dominoes.
There is now a platform and people willing to listen.
Yes they are probably bitter and see this as a good time to get some rightful justice.

But nah, I bet the media, these women, and Hillary are all in it together. Well that's what Trump says.

Horrifying as all this is, I'm glad it's coming to light. At 70, the guy probably thought he'd just get away with being a sexual predator for the rest of his life at this point. Who knows, if he'd never ran for president and just continued to be a loud-mouth businessman, he just might have.

It's like those criminals that can't help but return to the scene of the crime.

He went so long without any of this coming out, he was comfortable in believing it never would.

If he was smart, he would have indeed just retired and let his legacy be carried on with his children. But what a legacy he's going to leave behind now for his kids. Yuck.

There have been allegations of sexual assault against Trump since his campaign started. Hell, before his campaign started. It's just that before the Access Hollywood tape, you weren't paying attention. Granted, the tape did have the man admitting to this kind of behavior.

Well, he told everyone on Sunday that he has NEVER done what he said on that tape. Some women who stayed quiet about their experiences until they saw that and decided they had to speak up. Not very shocking, really..

If that was the case I don't understand why the GOP didn't execute him right then and there. Surely their oppo research was not asleep at the wheel during primary season... right?

On a serious note, I think that team Hillary probably knew this for a while, but probably only had a little idea of how extensively down the rabbit hole went.

For years these women feared the repercussions of coming forward against someone as powerful as Trump. The audacity of his advances and the uninhibitedness of those acts must have had a chilling effect on them. The guy made a move for a reporter in his own house while his wife was on another room, and then proceeded to jump to the "good husband" role instantly as she entered. Who would believe that? Would would believe it if there wasn't the Access Hollywood tape to establish his mindset and behaviour towards women by his own words? From there every women that was attacked by him and had to shut it down has the opportunity to come forward finally.

It's clearly a vast, left wing conspiracy. Every major newspaper, magazine and news network is in Big Hil's pocket and they've been meticulously planning this moment for a decade.

Or I guess it could be the same thing that always happens when rich, powerful people are finally cornered by the people they've abused and intimidated for decades.

I don't think they took the threat of him actually winning the primaries seriously enough, early enough. Most of the opposition research was probably focused on other candidates.

I mean, the fact Trump is a scumbag has been a matter of public record for decades. Nothing that's coming out here has required super deep digging, it's only even slightly below-the-surface because he did such a spectacular job of piling up a mountain of national-level reported garbage with things like the Central Park 5, his rant against Native Americans in front of Congress, etc.

I suppose if you want to get in a cheap shot, you could also say that his opponents were aware of some of this stuff, but because they're Republicans they didn't see any problem with it.
