Trump often donated to officials who were weighing decisions affecting his businesses

It's what lobbyists do every single day but not nearly as bad considering lobbys routinely write laws.

Lobbyists can cause a lot of harm, but I'd rather those guys draft legislation than leave it to the reps and senators and their pitifully paid staff researchers who have no idea of the industry they're mucking around in. At least with lobbyists, you know where they stand and what their aims are and can mitigite things (if you read before the vote) clueless rep from bfe, not so much.

I'd rather representatives and senators did their goddamn jobs beholden to their constituents and the nation instead of lobbyists. There are few things in American politics more disgusting than lobbyists writing laws.

Ok, I like your enthusiasm for the lege. However, most sens and reps aren't in office due to their mental acuity, I have little confidence in the their ability to craft and pass complex litigation without the input and influence of interested parties. I want Google at the table when tech bills are being considered, for example.

We get it, you have confidence in cooperations and not elected officials. Which ironically makes you believe in Trump and not Obama.

Lol come get me when Don does something Hillary hasn't already been doing for years (she does her business within the government is the only difference).

I don't think "brains" is a smart suit of the poster so i assume his bothsides-itis will either allow him to make an excuse or he won't post again

Objectify and demean women, discriminate against minorities, pick a VP that actively seeks to endanger LGBTQ rights, game the tax code to avoid paying taxes, fuck over working families and small businesses for personal gain, vocally support the foreign state sponsored hacking of US government bodies, dogwhistle a US president for years, generally be a piece of racist shit...I could do this all day.

But you're just another ignorant drive by doofus so I expect we won't be hearing from you again in this thread

To be fair thoughout the primaries Hillary-gaf kept saying donations don't matter and can't possibly sway opinions.

I agree, they should advise in crafting legislation to a certain degree but word for word transposing from what companies are requesting into legal documents is a bunch of bullshit. They should not be literally writing these laws word for word to suit their agendas.

Cooperations? I'm not a socialist hippie. though I did I vote for Obama in both of his presidential nominations and checking my bank account see that I have indeed donated to the Clinton campaign, hmm, maybe I am? I can only assume you have me confused with some other poster. What I do have is an inside view into the legislative process my own career wherein I review legislation directly affecting my line of work, criminal and administrative laws, and am able to provide reviews of state legislation as well as send requests up the chain, and my wife is a professor specializing in legislative matters. So I do have what I consider is a pretty good handle of the capabilities of both state and federal legislators regarding bills.

It is a bit distasteful, agree.
